Grand Company Ranks: Are they being ignored for the foreseeable future?

Seems kind of silly for the ranking system to stop abruptly as of Stormblood. Was hoping to see some advancement in ShB, never happened. Maybe they'll give us another couple of ranks? Or has the entire system been abandoned?

There aren't enough "things" involved in the grand company system to really justify additional ranks. Until they added the material crate thingies here in Endwalker, there wasn't even any good reason to advance to the captain rank to begin with.

Maybe a material crate 5.0 and 6.0 will later justify grand company expansion but atm grand companies are kinda pointless for the most part.

The ranks already exist though. I think his point is to give them a point. Nothing has a point in the design of game until it is given a point, and there were plenty of opportunities to involve the grand companies in the main story along the way. They mention them as existing and you see the troops around.
But anything you think has a point in this game has it because it was designed that way.

Currently Squadrons only go to level 60 and trusts start at level 70. Personally I think squadrons should go to 90 since they are superior to trust in several ways, but getting them to 70 would be a great reason to open up additional ranks.

I hope they revisit some old stuff. They can make Squadrons closer to trusts. It'll be cool if your retainers could do dungeons with you, too.

I love squadrons. I wished they would revisit them. I would love to have them go up to level 70 dungeons & get higher ranks & more squadron buffs.

I hope they expand on the GC stuff and actually add stuff we can do with our FC. We really need more things we can do with our FC as a group like doing specific GC dungeons and maybe add a storyline to GC.

I hope they do expand, there's some cool stuff they could do, as you rise up the ranks you could be commanding a grand company outpost (in some area of the grand company's region you haven't been to). you could slowly expand the outpost and command your troops to do various things, not sure exactly how it would work, I'm not a game designer, but I do hope we some some new functionality added to the grand companies in the future. I do think they're going to have to come up with something new to continue grand companies though, the squadron system. is kinda obsolete at this point.
