Not everyone is a NEET who can play the game in early morning or late at night. I have a 9-5 job like most normal people. Since most normal people cannot use their fantasias, it's business malpractice to actually sell them. If I sell a vacuum cleaner that only works when it's 3am, I deserve to be sued by the customers. Why is it OK in a video game?

I have been stuck trying to Fantasia my character for a week now. I used the Fantasia but whenever I log in, it tells me that to reduce server congestion character details cannot be displayed... So now I'm stuck in limbo unable to actually edit my character. I just sent $10 down the drain because Square Enix, a multibillion dollar company, can't build their servers so you can use Fantasia when the servers are stressed. This is just completely unethical. Do not sell Fantasias to people when it's impossible to use them. What is worse is that support has told me that my Fantasia CANNOT be refunded. I will be leaving a 1-star review on the Better Business Bureau website for Square Enix.

Have you tried calling and demanding to speak to their manager?

Like other people suggested, you may have to either stay up really late or set an alarm to wake up really early to fantasia, it's not ideal considering you're the one who has to work around SE's issue. It's unfortunate you can't get a refund for your fantasia, considering you're paying for a service that you can't use. But the congestion is temporary and hopefully not a long-term thing for much longer. Although, since Christmas I've noticed the ques have died down significantly so maybe the worst of the congestion is over? Let's hope.

To be fair, she said she didn't *buy* a fantasia. But you do get a fantasia for free while playing.

I used a Fantasia on day 1 when it was the most congested without any issue. Idk what your problem is? Sorry SE isn't helpful. Also, the BBB doesn't really affect them and likely won't change anything.

It's not business malpractice if they can actually be used. Just because it's not working for you at the moment doesn't make it a global issue.

Also, having a 9-5 job isn't an excuse to not be able to briefly log into the game; Back when 2.0 was released, I was going to school full-time (5+ classes), I held a job 40 hours per week and was also in a relationship. I still had time to play ffxiv quite a lot, every day.

And why should I be expected to do that? (Saving a character creation)

Because this way, you can log in (let's say 10pm or whenever) and you don't need to spend more than 5 minutes in the game. This isn't complicated, lmao.
