HELLO! Its my first post ever! I haven't gotten into any Forum posting in a long time and just to preface I am, or was, an avid Wow enthusiast until recently and there isn't much of a friendly forum scene there. Once classic hit tbc I was done and looking for a new place to MMO. FF14 has a wonderful community and a welcomed change to WOW.

Onto the topic at hand: Summoner changes and the changes in pet management. I played Summoner thru Shadowbringers and really loved its play style. Pets were a bit frustrating sometimes but like most pet classes across many MMOs it was to be expected and with some timing and patience was easy to pull off great numbers and be an effective support as well. Endwalker saw a load of changes including a complete rework of summoner. Personally I love the new rework.

That being said I have encountered some interesting quirks and I am curious if this has been addressed already. I bring these up to hopefully see some changes in game if needed or to find a way to mitigate or properly manage my pets. One issue is with the pets Bahamut and Phoenix. Their location in relation to the targeted enemy can effect the speed and response time of the casting of Enkindle. Upon summons of either of the two you gain access to two powerful nukes 'Astral Flow' and 'Enkindle'. The former cast from the player and the latter cast comes from the pet itself. 'Enkindle Bahamut/Phoenix' becomes 'Akh Morn' for Bahamut and 'Revelation' for Phoenix. 'Astral Flow' becomes 'DeathFlare' for Bahamut and 'Rekindle' for Phoenix. My issues are with Enkindle, the one that is cast from the pet. For whatever reason either Phoenix or Bahamut need to be standing right next to you or very near to cast Enkindle on the target. With that in mind you can actually summon Bahamut and cast Enkindle (Akh Morn) and run away from Bahamut and he will not cast it at all as he cant reach you and eventually he disappears after his time is up. the CD on Enkindle still goes off.

Bahamut summons from the exact location that the spell is triggered. So should u happen to be moving around it will take a moment for him to reach you and then cast 'Akh Morn'. This same behavior happens with Phoenix.

I hope my explanation is clear enough that it can be repeated by others at a 'striking dummy'. I bring this up as I get a feeling that this is incorrect and perhaps some adjustments need to be made in game to remove or adjust the distance required between myself and Bahamut/Phoenix before Enkindle is actually cast on the target. Why would Bahamut or Phoenix need to be right next to me in order to cast 'Enkindle' on the target? Does anyone else find this behavior a bit off? is anyone else experiencing the same behaviors?

So these are my thoughts and this being my first forum post I hope I haven't made too many Forum faux pas. :P I look forward to hearing from other summoners or anyone really that feels they can add to the discussion.
