South American Data Centre needs to happen

Well, ever since EW launch Behemoth has shown increased queues almost 1000 times vs other worlds on Primal, reaching queues of above 8k players vs other Primal world's queues of 4k players. As of the moment of this post, Behemoth has a queue of 1.200 players vs all other Primal worlds with a queue of 20-30 players. Behemoth, as it's known, is the unofficial Brazilian world.

So hopefully SE will get to work on this after the OCE launch

That was just one of the reasons listed, not the only one. Most of us don't even play on that server.

As I mentioned in (was it your) other thread on this, good luck, and keep making sure as many people from Brazil subscribe as possible. That's the metric they care about.

Not gonna happen, we can barely fill 3 servers in World of Warcraft with a cheap subscription (regional pricing)

I would rather have a regional pricing subscription, playing FFXIV here in South America, Argentina is a luxury with all the taxes and the economic crisis

Yeah unfortunately very high doubts well see a data center specifically for Central and South America. Its more likely well get new worlds or data centers for the current regions in the future. Perhaps a large group of Behemoth players can make the jump to these new worlds and create another unofficial world for yall, almost certain they'll provide free transfer to new worlds along with the usual incentives.

For distance/ping, I'm sure it'd probably be nice. But, may be a struggle to convince them the region is capable of filling an entire data center.

That doesn't mean South American servers are the solution to the problem. Nothing about the increased numbers directly suggests that a lack of South American servers is the issue. It just shows an increased interest in the game. Not where these players are playing from. Only SE has access to that info.

Not saying I don't want to see any South American servers. I hope we get them. I want everyone to be able to play with a good stable connection to the servers. Just saying you can't pin the congestion issues on players from that region. The congestion rose along with the popularity of the game. I seriously doubt the vast majority of the boom was from South America.

It would be cool but at the same time, are we enough people from SA to fill a datacenter? Also for example in Colombia they have less ping to Chicago than to Sao Paulo, so not every country would benefit of a SA server from a ping/lag perspective.

I think regional pricing is more importante.

While i would heavily appreciate south american servers so i would be actually able to competitively play some jobs, i feel that they should first do regional pricing, because at least where i live (Argentina), the monthly cost is a bigger barrier to entry
