XP was too good last expansion as well.

I never did understand why everyone was raving over Firmament when leves were a much faster way to level (assuming you had the allowances available).

Why would you need to return when the summoning bell is right there by the leve counter and the MB is just a quick jog up the stairs?

I literally leveled all my crafters and gatherers in 1 day from 80 to 90 with a combination of Leves (had 99 saved up), Studium and Collectibles.

Having Penta melded i490 gear helped a LOT, I did not need to even get any crafting or gathering gear till 90 and even then, most of my Penta melded piece's were still better than the un-melded 560 gear.

No wonder the leveling and the Leves were a joke.

Well to be fair it should take time, it has a large reward. I would argue that it's easier to go from 1 to 90 now than it was to go from 1 to 50 in ARR, significantly so.

Well they are leveling tools they should help to get to level cap, the question is how much is too much.

Without a doubt the gear made it easier but it used to take far more leves to level up. I didn't use food or upgrade my gear once and on the 80 durability stuff I ended with plenty of wiggle room in the form of durability and CP.

I agree, with simple scrip gear it would still be really easy.

For Land I agree. I haven't done any gathering leves yet but the exp while out in the field seems ok.

In general you have many ways to just power level crafter/gatherer such Grand Companies and Collectables or even the Firmament.

Leves are simple one of them and fast enough since you can craft near a MB/bell and just dump there
Yeah but, 3-4 items per level, with easy synths to boot...?

We already need a lot of exp just to get this far.
It's not that bad to be fair, you can quick synth to the mid 20's and then firmament all the way to 80. Gil can be an issue but in terms of time it's maybe 10-12 hours per crafter. Much faster than a combat job or gatherer. You will get bogged down on job quests if anything as manipulation is too good to pass up on.

Good exp for sure, I just think they have over done it this time.

Leveling Hand/Land has felt pretty fast for a while now, just given how many options there are with massive exp drops. Leves, collectibles, Firmament, GC, challenge log, plus any exp buffs you might have going. I mean, I'm sure it's less fun for a lot of folks being stuck mid-leveling when all the "real crafting" is at level cap. But. I'd also find it mildly frustrating having everything reach cap before I've fully completed/invested in some of those methods.

leves seem fine to me. collectables would just be spammed if leves were low exp anyways so people would be able to get to 90 either way.

gatherers gather outside of old sharlayan so they just return you to the closest settlement (aetheryte) instead of taking you all the way back to old sharlayan, but the issue is you're spending at least three teleports everytime you do a set of gatherer leves (once to old sharlayan, once to the region you're doing leves in and then once more to return to old sharlayan to receive the rewards for completion), it's a tad bit ridiculous it's been this way since heavensward.

well, the minimum amount of hand-ins for leves is actually five per level at lv80+ and with some of the mid-level leves giving a ridiculous amount of exp (eg. the saigaskin fending coat leve being better than both of the leves at level 86 for leatherworker) so it's no surprise it takes such a short amount of time but i would argue it's fast because there's 80 other levels to go through before you get to these.

Never hardly used leves for leveling my crafters. I just turned in collectables to level crafting. There is no limit on them.

In just a few hours I had 3 level 90 crafters, that seems far too easy to me.
Certain leves are easier based on material requirements and some are a lot more difficult if you're not buying things like leather from the MB. Is XP gain higher than in the past? Maybe, but they also got rid of the 3x3 turn-in so they may have increased overall XP gain from those leves where you need to turn three of something in.

I used the Handsaint and Landsaint sets all the way to 90, gathered nearly everything I needed myself, and did ok if I used food and syrup. To be perfectly honest, I got as much, if not more, XP from processing the raw materials needed to make things as I did turning in finished goods. GC dailies, creative job-switching for Custom Deliveries, Studium quests, collectibles, and Dwarf quests helped a lot with leveling LTW and ALC by avoiding some of the worst recipes. It wasn't the most time-efficient method, but making the separate processed components (ingots, etc) individually was huge XP gain. The only jobs I did significant amounts of leve bashing on were ARM and ALC since the 86 and 88 leves had low material requirements and I didn't feel like gathering hundreds more ore for ARM.

Two weekend of serious no-life focus got me from 80 to 90 in all DoH and DoL. It was probably 60-65 hours in total.

who cares if it's too easy. it's crafting. just MB the day 1 overly cheap craft turn ins from the bots SE refuses to get rid of.

I did find them a bit too generous. you only need to craft 4 or 5 items to get a level. Though without having good gear (despite the script vendor handing it out on the cheap) I can understand I'm probably not the target audience there. I just wish the individual crafts gave better bonus xp for first time complete.

... why wouldn't you use collectables instead? No limit, and they pay better.
