    I miss when each area had a levemete... And when battlecraft leves were still an alternative. They really dropped the ball with Heavensward leves and have only themselves to blame for messing it up.

    Crafter and Gatherer leves however are fine. Allowance is limited and to be fair even exp outside leves/collectables is very inflated for DoL and DoH.

    It's not unfair IMO because you have to level all 8 crafter individually and that's essentially leveling multiple combat jobs. Not to mention if you want to gather your own materials so then you have to level the 3 gathering jobs as well.

    Leves EXP-wise is fine and are limited by time. Leveling through multiple means: custom deliveries, collectibles, crafting while using EXP manuals, Studium deliveries are all good ways of getting EXP. Trying to use leves to get all the crafters from 80-90 is unrealistic because you'll just run out of the 99 leve allowances anyway, not to mention if you're using them for gathering as well.

    In the end, DoL and DoH leveling changes reflect the changes to combat job leveling. It's so easy to get to 90 now. As a result any kind of natural progression is gone. There is "level cap" and "not level cap" - nothing in between. I don't think it's any fun to be stuck with all the mid-range recipes that have no use and are entirely worthless for anything outside leveling itself. Game throws gear at players and you can go from one poetics set to another without ever needing to use any mid-level upgrade. Same goes for food and potions being completely pointless unless you are at cap.

    Leves are time gated so no the exp they award is not too much. It may seem like a lot if you have saved up 99 of them but it’s not.

    Anyways, i'd rather crafting Leves be a really good way to level them than ending up the same way Battlecraft leves have (completely worthless, in a phrase)

    They were busted more-so last expansion than what they are this expansion, to be honest.

    Besides, as much as I hate to admit it, I do strongly stand-by their course of levelling crafters to be easy. They are aimed not at being the main content within the game, so it stands to be perfectly reasonable that they can be levelled with as little tedium as possible.

    Not to mention, ideally if you want self-sufficiency then you'll want all 8 of the classes, unless you aim to just be a CUL/ALC, which is a different matter entirely. - They should really be factoring the investment around the whole fact you ideally want all of them, not just a singular which contrasts to battle.

    They definitely do feel a little overtuned, especially given there are some leves that don't even require a full crafted item. You shouldn't be able to turn in 3 Manganese Ingots and get basically the same reward as a full Manganese body armour piece. There also should be a greater disparity between the normal and HQ reward. It's really not hard to HQ something so you should be "punished" harder for not doing it.

    I don't really find the act of leveling crafters/gatherers particularly exciting, so I didn't really mind I could spend my leve allowances and get a few pretty easily to 90. Though, I did collectibles more since the cost of time to gather was about the same and buying the leve items outright was a cost I didn't feel like dealing with + I wanted scrips.

    Granted, I did a pretty healthy mix and mostly just wanted the ability to meld/repair and make raid pots/food and possibly armor/accs. I don't really know what a harsher leveling curve would really accomplish, though; most people don't tend to particularly enjoy the process of leveling due to its tedium and crafted items are still valuable and selling - particularly consumable items.
