I firmly believe that people who keysmash shouldn't be allowed to have opinions.YoshiP: "That system will be the root of bullying. I'm 100% confident in that. I know you'll see this in party finders: 'Only join if you can prove you can do dps XXX amount'. We never want that to happen."
AHAHAHAHAAHGHAGHAGLHGLHAGLH GALHGLKHKLSDHG KLJKLSDJ WELL
What can we say. The man was right. The prophecy proved itself to be true. And it's exactly why it'll never officially be in game. You can all see right there that that kind of behavior irritates him. But unfortunately no matter how much people kick and scream, that behavior always without fail always comes hand-in-hand with public parsing. Just report it when you spot it. Yah people will cry and type up novels about why they should be able to do exactly what Yoshi has said multiple times now that he hates. But you have the right of way, so it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to take that person down for demanding that in-game which is stupid and begging for a ban to begin with. Idk why people are so determined to do crimes openly-what is this, san francisco. Jeez. -and if this post makes anyone who doesnt post public pfs asking for parse logs still seethe regardless, then you're tripping your own bike with a stick and I need you to stop that.
I think fflogs are a cancer, personally. I am still pro-parse for self improvement though and it is absolute joke that SE doesn't build one in house for console players so they know how they are doing relative to the rest of the group. Harassing underperformers is already a bannable offense so why not just give console players the goods?
I have my logs hidden and I don't believe in utilizing parsers therefore I don't join groups that do. I think if you are looking to clear EX/Savage content you are better off doing a PF and stating your needs. By joining established statics, they will have their own sets of rules.
Personally, I am only diving into EX this patch because I want the DNC chakrams for EX2. But I don't usually dip into higher-end content on a regular basis. Many players treat Savage/EX like a professional job. That's how they play. I don't personally play that way but I've just learned to find groups that suit my needs.
"The worst foe lies within the self."
1) The only person impressed by how hardcore you are is you.
2) If this is true, then you should probably thank them. People like that are why the game still has a respectable budget after a decade and has gone to four expansions.
So here's the thing with this take. Comparing yourself to the rest of the group isn't really a good way to improve, because that aspect really doesn't matter. If I'm a Bard, comparing myself to a Black Mage really doesn't tell me if I'm playing my job in a way to improve. Instead, I should be comparing myself to other Bards to see how I can compare. FFLogs is one part of that bridge. It's not widely discussed, but there is another tool that feeds of FFLogs (XIVanalysis) that takes your logs, and can pinpoint areas for improvement.I think fflogs are a cancer, personally. Focusing on a casual playerbase is a decision the devs make themselves and it's despite toxic casualism like that big wall of text rather than because.
To be fair, the hardcore raiding playerbase is the minority of FFXIV and really shouldn't be catered to. Ultimately, FFXIV is a single-player FF experience in an MMO wrapping. Hardscore raiders really shouldn't expect to have the game revolve around them with systems in place that very few players will use or want to use. I am in NO WAY slamming hardcore raiders, I say go for it. But it truly isn't how this game was designed and Savage isn't really content a majority of the playerbase dives into.

That would be a terrible waste of potential because the devs are really good at making challenging content. The game can have something for everyone and saying raiders should not be catered to is not only ignorant of the content we do get but also a needless black and white approach. If the game wasnt designed for raiders we would not have savage at all. I think you are understimating how many people try out savage. To be fair, the hardcore raiding playerbase is the minority of FFXIV and really shouldn't be catered to. I saw some data from a year ago that states almost a quarter of all max level players global at the time had a non echo e5s clear logged, going down to around 13% for e8s. Considerably higher numbers when looking just at the JP DCs, which in my assumption are very important to the devs.
Only one thing should be gatekeeped and that is raider.io
