Parsing unfair but okay?

The simple solution would be to make the addons unusable with the game's client. They can't stop people from demanding it (so long as they aren't doing so in public), true, but if the addon can't be used at all, then it's entirely mute. Is that possible? I don't know, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Also, no, parsing is not an indicator of skill at all. An indicator of skill in this game is following the mechanics properly, not dying, and managing to kill the boss without hitting an enrage and auto-wiping the party. Parsing, dps meters, etc., never has been and never will be anything more than glorified epeen meters. You are not "carrying" people by letting someone who doesn't have parses into your static. If you need something like parses to determine skill than that's a greater indicator of your own competence or lack thereof. The only reason people care about parsing is because they want to flex an arbitrary number on others, it has nothing to do with caring about skill, let alone downing bosses effectively.

When I see people complain about a boss being killed TOO FAST because that "ruined muh parse" (yes this has happened), that says everything right there. Parsers just want to flex a magic number. They get angry at non-parsers because they can't see non-parsers magic numbers and so they can't know if their own magic number is bigger or not. That's all it's really about. Just be honest about it and don't pretend you care about "skill".

But as others have said OP, report them. There are peoople saying OP can't because it's from discord, when she stated that she's seen people requiring parses in Party Finder. That's 100% against the rules and they will be banned if you report them.
