These people are usually the ones not using CDs, dropping combos or quintuple weaving from what I've seen though.I mean you don't, but you're also not going to be optimised either because the game won't tell you you're clipping or drifting on GCDs, it won't explain why synchronized raid buffs and snapshotting is important, or any mistakes or bad habits you making because it won't present that data to you.
So they might be "good", but with that information they would be great.

Sorry but if you consider playing with people in a static who doesn't want you there in the first place out of whatever reason and they would just take you cause they don't have a tool at hand then i have to say...you have really low standards i mean heck have some respect for yourself.Hello,
I'm finding it hard to find a MC static due to not having parse logs available. Four out of five statics are requiring logs in pf or discord recruitments. I've cleared the previous raid tier but I don't have the logs.
Is this never intended to be enforced and just a blanket policy with no action ever intended to be taken?
I find this a massive advantage to PC user since I don't have the option available on playstation. I don't have the ability to see if I'm improving or if my gear setup makes a difference. I'm not asking to parse but a self dps meter for consoles would make a giant difference in being competetive. Currently the only available method to test my damage is the target dummy trials but in 3 minutes it can be heavily skewed by crits/dh and the times can vary by a lot.
Is there any advice on how to join a high end static without logs or the ability to optimize?
Taking parser away from people will just put the blindfold on them but that doesn't change the fact that they didn't wanted you in the first place, now they just don't know beforehand that they don't want you...and you want to play with people who don't want you in the first place so desperately? Especially in a static where people are usually a bit closer than in random groups and you would be totally fine with being there possibly unwanted but anyways instead of getting into the right group where people actually like you for whatever reason and have fun with you?
Oh I agree heck, if I hadn't started using tools myself I'd have stayed Naive and continued thinking that because it worked in ShB it would continue to work in EW.
What people forget about ShB is Crit/DH was incredibly busted and as long as you stacked them you could easily mask rotation mistakes and develop bad habits that would become exposed in EW. I had honestly no idea I was making these GCD clipping mistakes even with FFlogs because of the bad habits I'd developed from EW.
Why when my Ultimate Raider friend gave me the link to the analysis tool it was a massive eye opener to what I was actually doing wrong, that I was playing way too fast and I'd have never known without having that information in front of me.
I'd say report anyone that asked for parsed dps.
There is no grey area, once someone screws up using it to outline someones bad dps, they get banned. Just using it IS against the Terms. It doesn't matter what picture anyone here is painting, you shouldn't be using no parsers, and they fact statics can deny you entry to join them is their right, but not by taking into account what you parsed.
Ban them... In wow his in common place, happens all the time, normal. You do NOT want that to become normal here.

Another ToS herald here, dont you find it a bit odd that your suggestion is to just report left and right when OP is asking for advice how to join higher end statics? Dont you feel like that would be counter productive? A static leader doesnt need a reason at all to deny you entry, there simply is no right to join a static.I'd say report anyone that asked for parsed dps.

I think you got it mixed up. While the act of parsing is against the ToS, asking for someone's logs outside of the game is absolutely okay. Not that it would be punishable anyway. I could be someone that has only played on Playstation and never ran XIV on windows at all and still ask for your logs. Morality aside, this is not prohibited. It is then your right to say you have no logs, to which in turn I can deny your application.I'd say report anyone that asked for parsed dps.

Stop talking about "You don't want this game to become like wow." This game has existed for 8 years now, 11 counting 1.0. It has its established community culture at this point and it was influenced by wow from the very design document. You're not our wisened savior come from an aging land.
Second, for my static that will be meeting for several hours a week (we're at 40+ hours this week, almost killed 4s), I reserve the right to deny potential members for any reason. Don't like your attitude? Denied. Don't like your glam? Denied. Decide based on your log history you're not worth gambling on as a good fit for my group? Denied. This works as much to the other party's benefit too, they don't end up with any filthy toxic elitists who don't play with their same mindset, so they can continue holding up their noses whenever parsing is brought up in polite society.
It is weird you don't have logs TBH cause I have logs uploaded by other people just from clearing the content. Have you tried looking yourself up and providing what is online? Can't really give any advice on this IMO if a group is asking for logs just to join a static they sound like people I probably would not have a good time raiding with. Sure I want to clear content but I also want to enjoy my time doing it and those group don't sound fun.Hello,

Discord I don't know what to tell ya there you can use it on your phone. I would just mute yourself so everyone isn't stuck listening to your background noise.
Also it is funny how everyone is hyper focused on the parser but no one acknowledged the discord issue.

No one being gatekeep. Not having a parse doesn't stop you from doing any content. It may, however, stop you from entittled yourself to a carry.

Instead of trying to impress people who seem to only care about big numbers why not start your own group?
