Glamour plate (linked glamour plate) improvement suggestion

    Hi SE Dev,

I'm writing this thread to suggest that all glamour and "linked glamour plates" can be successfully applied to all applicable equipment/gear in the open world, this way people with glamour or artifact gear as glamours can apply it to their job/role gear without having to travel back to the nearest town or city that allows them to do so. Also you make it that the player out in the open world can only apply glamour will they are NOT in combat. I think this improvement to the glamour system will be very beneficial to all players in FFXIV. Thanks for reading my suggestion.

I'm wondering if this is due to the way world maps are programmed. I have also come across times where I would be out and about and I would receive the glamour error. I see no reason why we couldn't equip it in areas deemed "safe."
    Have a good one!

I think I read a while back that it has to do with how glamour dressers are physically in cities in a way, but they aren't in explorable zones, so they can't be accessed. Like not that you can go interact with one, but they exist in the zone so you can change plates in that same zone. The way I explained it probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but there is a technical reason for why you can't change plates outside major settlements.

That makes a ton of sense, and is lore friendly lol. Perhaps in the future/ couple expansions we will have a "tomestone of mobile glamour" or something thats titled less atrociously.
    Thanks for the insight!

Regardless of the current technical limitation/reasoning I think se needs to step up and find a solution then.

It amazes me how they implement things only 1/2 way.
Future complaints can be easily foreseen buy everyone....except them for some reason O.o

I agree with the above request. This is overdue.
Back when I left a suggestion about being able to glamour AF gear to actually appreciate the work gear designers did put into them, I honestly was dissapointed by the open world limitation. For me it didnt solve that Issue. I just reached Level 90 on GNB which is my second Tank. It hurts my soul to reject both GNB and WAR AF gear as glamour as I use both Tanks frequently for all sorts of activities

Sadly, the current state in the game in regards of gear design is:
    1. Get your AF GEAR upon reaching Level Cap (or in EW one level sooner)
    2. Never use it again, or live with other roles wearing gear which doesn't look good on your character,

For me, what needs to be adressed to give AF gear the appreciation it deserves:

    1. Rework glamour plates so they are useable in the open world. instanced area limitation are still reasonable in my opinion. Maybe it is possible to work on a fallback solution. like if i am in an open world area, the gear will use default mirages which are set by the player. Maybe let us bind glamour to our jobstone to give it some unique purpose. An UI already springs into my mind for it.

    2. with the increase of jobs and the amount of AF gearsets which are marvelous this expansion, more plates would be appreciated. I know 31 are a bit much, but thats what I hope for the most: 1 plate per every disciple in the game.
