Indeed linked to GHUB or, rarely, other mouse software like Synapse.

Asking SE to fix the situation is a noble effort, but the problem might actually not be on their end. This might be the fault of the mouse software developers. Who knows?

In the meantime, the following super-simple workaround exists. This workaround takes ten seconds and four mouse clicks:

- Wait five seconds when you see the black screen
- Click once or twice, and hit ESC once or twice.
- Your screen will turn white and Windows will ask you if you want to send an error report.
- Cancel this error report.

If you're saying this because you're under the impression it will take a lot of time; it won't. The instructions the mod provided take just a few seconds to complete.

If you're saying this because you're embarrassed or nervous about people seeing some particular piece of software you have installed, then just edit out that line from the text file generated when you follow the mod's instructions.

Like, literally the crux of this issue is a conflict with certain software people have installed. Telling the tech there's no chance of a list of software you have running is completely counter-productive.
