Aetherial Reduction on fish not possible

Edit: Issue resolved. Didn't knew about collectable gloves... Thx, to DrGirlfriend fo show me the error of my ways
While beeing able to fish: Thaliak Caiman and Tupuxaura and their tool tip saying, they are reducible, you can't. This makes aquiring of Seaborn Aether impossible, therefore entire Heavensward endgame crafts unobtainable.

3. Not beeing able to do Aetherial Reduction
4. Not being able to aquire Seaborne Aethersand
5. Crafts like Boltmaster's Slacks or Boltmaster's Top Boots cannot be crafted anymore

In order to break down fish via Aetherial Reduction, they need to be collectibles. In the screenshot you posted, the fish are non-collectible (normal) version. If you put on your collectible glove (ability), this will allow you to catch these fish as collectibles with a collectible score based on their size. This is also how fish are turned in for white and purple scrips (in collectible version). Good luck!

Don't feel stupid! I've been playing this game for years and would have made the same mistake, because I only just learned what Aetherial Reduction does, haha. There are a lot of systems and it can be overwhelming. Happy questing!

Once upon a time, it was a similar system with botanist and miner as well. Glad its all sorted now =)
