Having trouble with lv 40 squad dungeon

Due to my team's stats, I can't do the lv 40 dungeon needed to get promoted in the Grand Company. I heard some characters are better than others but I don't know who. Does anyone know any good GC recruits to look for? Done everything from over lv to moving stats and characters about but nothing works so trying out changing recruits.

Over level to about 50 and one stat change is the way I've always done it.

You won't be in the party for this one. You would need to pick 1 tank, one healer, two dps while trying to fill out all three stats, or at least 2 with the third just 1 or 2 points off.

Ah. "Dungeon" added to confusion. Did seem odd running a squad dungeon for promotion....

Yeah, can't recall if those needed to be guaranteed success or not... definitely not a matter of which characters you use, just what class spread you have to hit the required stats.

The promotion to Captain requires you to do any five unique dungeons. If one is giving you trouble, you can level past it and do one of the others instead.

After the 40 flagged mission, 5 unique dungeons unlocks the 50 flagged mission "Sapper Strike", and doing that flagged mission gives Captain.

A hint for running the squad in a party with you is to make one or two summoner, as that will add to the heals. The summoner has a problem with pet agro, but the extra heals are worth it.

Don't need to over-level the flagged missions, and I see no one is mentioning the training courses to alter the stats of your squadron which really helps with squadron missions.

edit: I'm actually waiting on my squadron to come back from the Sapper Strike mission, and only one of my guys is lvl 50, the others are 49 or 48, and by using the training courses to get the right stats the mission was bound to succeed.

In fairness, just sorta assumed that by that point, the training courses are already being utilized.
