    Dragoons... and well Dragoons

Back in FF Tactics Dragoons could use jump attacks and elemental dragon breath abilities. Was pretty cool, not sure why they went away from this design over time with the dragon elemental breaths but it made me think of something. Wouldn't it be cool if Square Enix bought out The Legend of Dragoon (old ps1 game) and used some themes from that game into their own?

Or simply just remaster the game itself and make some easy money off of it and possibly make it a franchise. For those that don't know back in the Playstation 1 days The Legend of Dragoon was game designed to compete against Final Fantasy, but was sadly never successful as the game received some major backlash as the game itself had 4 discs and they were charging full price per disc at the time.

There is a strong and loyal community behind the game and I believe Sony is just sitting on it doing nothing with it. Back during the PS3 days the game was top seller on the sony network store for 6 months straight and stayed in the top ten 6 months even after that.

Sorry if this isn't the forums to discuss this, didn't know where else to go.

This is not true. They just had jumps, and some passives like Ignore Height.

...it cost $50 when it came out, just like every other new game back then. What?

It failed as "the Final Fantasy killer" because it wasn't a very good game. Why try to obtain someone else's failed IP that was designed to make a run at your own and which failed because of a lack of quality? What does this have to do with FFXIV? O_o

In FF Tactics dragoons had fire breath, lightning breath, and I think Ice breath. It was part of their "kit" to seem more dragon like. Not only that but no one said it was the "final fantasy killer" it was a competitor. It was an amazing game with many fans behind it, I feel like you've never played it if you believe it had almost no quality. If it was a very bad game as you described it wouldn't of been a top seller on the playstation store for 6 months straight.

But i bring it up here because well I don't know where else to bring it up too. But thanks for replying I guess.

Wasn't the Elemental Breath a Final Fantasy Tactics Advance thing?

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.

Nope classic I believe, like original ps1. However I could be wrong as it has been awhile.

It wasn't. Unless you are talking about Reis which is a special character and not a dragoon.
You are thinking of the advance series

Elemental breaths were a Tactics Advance thing. But during 1.0 before the jobs had actually come out, Yoshi-P described the new job abilities we were going to get. I am pretty sure I remember him saying that the capstone ability for DRG was going to be a fire-based cone attack, but what we ended up getting was the pole dance instead. So it could've been something that was possible at one time, but they turned away from it.

Main reason I remember this is because Tactics Advance was my very first FF game and I was looking forward to a reference to it only to get that ability which ended up disappearing anyway.

FFT Dragoons didn't have any breath attacks, but they did have passive reraise, which would get a lot more mileage for good ol' FFXIV loldrg if we had it.

Dragon breath attacks would make more sense post heavsward, pre they were all anti dragon in every way. To emulate them would be death. Certainly wouldn't mind if they put any effort into class customization for sure, all goons being fervent ishgard policy supporters is silly.

The Legend of Dragoon needs a remake so bad. There was a petition for it 2 years ago. At this point I wish they started a go fund me.
