Bowl of Embers Glitch (Ifrit's Missed Appointment)

Not sure if this has happened to any of you before, but last night the Bowl of Embers crashed as our party tried to enter and it broke the entire thing, crashing the game. When some of us logged back in, we were inside the Bowl of Embers, but Ifrit didn't bother to show. There was no burning circle with invisible walls, no dark atmosphere, no eclipse, no timer.

The atmosphere was the same as Broken Water and we were free to roam. Most of it was exactly as you'd expect - lots of Amalj'aa shields sticking in the sand. However, if you took the path to the West and into the ring-shaped area, there exists something bizarre.

A MELTED AETHERITE WRAPPED IN CHAINS.
What is this? I don't even...

If you interact with it, it says it gives off a dull glow. What do you think it's for?

Well, I managed to deduce that much; the area was in the game all the way back to Lord Errant. I'm just curious as to why the aether would have interactivity programmed into it if it was just a cutscene prop.

I'm pretty sure these are basically their 'protocrystals' for a lack of a better word, because there's one even in the area with Garuda that's also tied up.

They likely intended something for future use but given how launch went, yeah.

Yeah just got spit out here after a server crash on ifrit...looked much darker and sinister at night though :P

it happens when the ifrit area instance (or how one would call it) crashes
happened the very day ifrit was released jp time we all were warped to that area at nighttime, 100 or so people was quite fun
