Honestly, if you'd be afraid of starting an argument in bringing something like this up, they can't be very good friends.How should i tell them with out starting an argument? How would you guys feel/deal this?

Disown them. PL is for noobs anyway.
Clearly it takes 50 levels for a Paladin to realize Phalanx combos into War Drum

I understand the feeling very well, i hate how people get caught onto want to enjoy ONLY the end game and want skip the fun of level normal way... along the low level content cause it.
Also, i see alot of people raging about newbies around getin PL'd to 50 and then no one want play with them cause they dont know how to play their jobs... now i see alot of people defending PLing newbies? whats wrong with you guys, decide yourself what you complaint about...
About the OP.... get to understand maybe he like me, got a couple friends he wanted to play with, and now results someone else took that pleasure off him cause he PLing his friends. i did got some friends in this game to play with them,got their games even installed on their PC, but they always wanted PL, so i did PL them ... thats not fun. Nowdays that they are Lv.50 and body able to do end game content, they aint my friends anymore, so yes. PL can be a killer of friendship and it sucks.

It's no one else's business how another player chooses to gain their levels. If your friends preferred to get PLed rather than go at your pace, there's a discrepancy between what they wanted, and what you expected of them, since you feel so disappointed. You can't just blame PLing because your friend preferred it to going at your pace.
PLing in no way negatively effects anybody who doesn't care for it. Don't even try that tired argument of it leading to players on 50s that have no idea how to play their jobs effectively. Plenty of people in game that have 50s legitimately who have no flipping clue how to play their jobs, let alone possess the hand-eye coordination, timing, and overall common sense to be able to play effectively. In fact most people end up needing to be told how to play their jobs by people who have figured it out for them, which in no way has a prerequisite of having leveled your job legitimately.

Look noctis, he isn't starting an argument. Please don't bust out the moral lesson of PLing in this thread, nobody wants to hear it -the dead horse has been beaten enough. He is simply bummed that he can't level up his main class with his friends like he intended to because they PLd straight to 50.It's no one else's business how another player chooses to gain their levels. Why does everyone who support PLing seem to think of leveling as a "boring and useless grind"? Isn't it obvious that the OP would have *enjoyed* grinding out those levels with his friends rather than getting PLed to 50 then gridning on dungeons or primals? Why does this seem so foreign to this community...
Alright I'm breaking with my current plan of not openly attacking PLing but THAT sir is BULLSHIT.It's no one else's business how another player chooses to gain their levels. OP himself was DIRECTLY affected by PLing! Because there is an exploit he missed out on many leveling parties and time spent with his friend enjoying the mid-game. I can also attest to how PLing hurts the overall community. When I start EXP parties and try to find people to fill the overbloated party setups I find half of my potential party members are already out there getting PL'd. I have had this happen MULTIPLE times! We move out to Nop Wells to scatter some ants and naturally we lose players. At one point my PT was 4/8 and on the verge of collapse due to lack of reps, even asking every soul in range in /tell, flagged or not. During my search I stumbled across a PL PT at the South Camp.
Oh look at that! They are all within our range and 4/8 themselves!
{Excuse me...} 4/8 {Let's Team Up?}
{No thanks!} getting pl
Yeah but our pt could merge with yours and we'd be high enough to go to Copperbell
no thanks man this is easier
I have yet to convince anyone from an active PL PT into a real PT because why would anyone want to actually WORK for the things they desire? I'm sorry but PLing screws us all over and the whole, "Well don't PL if you don't want to but leave it in game!" is utterly and completely ass stupid. It RUINS the game and will ensure FFXIV shrivels up and dies. Human beings are lazy. Let's face it. We've spent the last 50 million years learning how to get grubs out of logs with small sticks just so we didn't have to climb a tree for some fruit. The moment a new piece of content comes out within days there is a 'right' way to do it. It is the easiest, fastest, or most efficient in some capacity and that is generally what people stick to. You might find the odd individual willing to do a task in a more difficult manner but for 99% of the population the path of least resistance is chosen most often.
Leaving PLing in this game will straight murder any hope we have for low-to-mid game leveling and basically null the leveling process entirely. Shit we may as well start capped. When you log on simply pick a class like in TF2! That way everyone can get to their precious end game ASAP! To GRIND for weapons which have no purpose but to make it easier to grind MORE weapons!
It is an exploit. It is wrong. It is ruining the game. This is a fact. The only people I see actively defending PLing are those who do it themselves and don't want to get called out on cheating. Or are just that lazy. There is no excuse. If you find the 8 day average 'grind' for a capped job too tedious then why on God great spinning ball would you play an MMO?

I bet you are one of those who like to ruin other people fun tryin to tell them how to play their job even if you dont know it. I'm sorry but your comentary kinda makes me think this about you.It's no one else's business how another player chooses to gain their levels.
