I've had active random offers of PL from people and had to decline some on my server... just ask them to PL yourself if they are all L50 it should be easy for them, don't be against it if you want in on it too.

you've had random people offer to powerlevel you? Send them my way. Your loss is my gain. (Only if it's free. Not going to pay anyone to do it)

at the end of the day you either will know how to play or you wont, regardless of if you were PL'ed.

It's called efficiency. Not everybody is in love with the idea of taking longer to get to the end. If your friends came back to the game to see end-game, why shouldn't they be allowed to breeze past the boring part of the game to see it?
I have no problem with power leveling. I do, however, have a problem with people somehow not understanding how to play their class/job when they're level 50. (Don't give me that "oh, but if you leveled it the right way you'd learn" garbage. Grinding the slow way in no way helps you learn your class better. It's called picking up on things, and people seriously need to learn to do that.)

I think Plíng sucks. im proud to say that i got all my jobs to 50 without that. i seen it on other people, they get bored of this game very fast and quit playing cause they had nutin to do anymore. maxed everything in just a short amount of time.

There's plenty of stuff that you could be doing at the lower levels that you'd be missing out on if you just PL'd straight to 50: Toto-rak runs, Shposhae, early Ifrit battle, Company leves, chocobo caravans, storyline, side, class, and job quests, etc.
My group of friends and I have been enjoying all this content at the levels they were designed for, and they've been challenging and pretty damn fun. Taking down Antares and Sargas, being near death during an Ifrit fight, etc. were all fun as hell.
Last night after getting through Ifrit the first time, some LS mates wanted to get through the quest and one of them was a level 50 BLM. Before the opening cutscene was done, Ifrit was already on the ground dead. Totally boring and a complete waste of time.
This would have happened to my earlier group had I not been pretty damned obstinate about keeping everyone around the class level. One of the guys who had a lvl.50 monk even THANKED me for telling him to switch to a lower class because he thought it was so fun.
The game isn't one big grind. You'll end up missing out on a lot of stuff if you just want to PL and rush to lvl.50.

Well there are a couple things you could do.
1. Make your own xp groups. (they do exist)
2. Tell your friends to lvl another job.
3. Get someone els to PL you and your buddy.
4. Duo leve quests with your buddy.
There's no way on Earth to make "grinding" fun and varied.
