It's kind of a toss up when it comes to levelling in this game. Sure, it's kind of fun playing with your friends and levelling slower but that's part of working together and being all "us vs the world" mentality. But at the same time if you only have so much time to enjoy the entire game PLing is a good way to be able to access all of it. Being level 50 doesn't mean you can't enjoy the quests below 50. It just means the combat parts will be incredibly easy.

If they are back just for the 10 days I'm sure they want to do the end game contents ASAP to try out the 10 days fully so I don't see nothing wrong them getting PL'ed all the way. Now if they are returning players to stay in the game forever then maybe you can ask them to level another job with you so you guys level together.

But personally leveling in this game is a joke, I'd rather get my level up to 50 and enjoy contents available for that level imo but that's just me, might be different for you.

I 2nd this. If there was at least more content to do in lower levels Id stop pling members in my ls and say go see the damn low level zones like some of the dungeons 11 had.

People who are PL'd are broke. Tell them to buy some new gear. When they can't afford it, recommend some leves to do together.

While I do agree that exp comes too fast atm. I dont see a problem with the "ability to pl". again, I do think its still too fast.

They did say they're toning it down for 2.0. Which is good, because that'll give players more of a sense of job identity when they're suddenly presented with "Oh now it's going to take much longer to level, I need to chose my favorite and commit otherwise I won't go anywhere."

Honestly I'd ask them to pl you then go do something that is really fun like fighting ifrit. The leveling up system in this game is a complete joke.

This is what MMOs have become thanks to WoW. No one wants to actually play the game. Everyone is in a rush to max level because "that's when the game starts" so they can get locked into a raid schedule and just log on to pick up their new loot and complain about having nothing to do. Explain how you feel to them and if they don't understand then just move on and level on your own or find new friends.

I enjoy PLing friends and LS mates, it is nice to have at least one rank 50 class so that you can actually participate with the 50's in your linkshell. i believe it very important to level one DOW and DOM without power leveling, but i do thaink that you really start learning your class from 40-50, not 1-40.

leveling a class that you were static partying with a friend is not good unless you also level a replacement. i can understand your frustration. I just wanted to throw out there that i do not think it all bad to PL a class to be able to participate with others, though it is oft more fun to duo or party on leves with friends to get 50.

OP's been playing since January and doesn't have a 50 yet. Frankly, expecting anyone else to slow themselves to that pace to match you is unreasonable. Most people don't want to dawdle like that. You don't even have to PL, you could have grinded out several 50s by now even casually.
