Friends Don't Let Friends PL

If they are your friend, why wouldn't you help them? (Or they help you)
I PL my friends: The grind to 50 is just that, a grind to 50.
Suffering it doesn't make you a better player, reading the tool tips on your abilities does.
Also, being a helpful friend and showing your friends a good time is rewarding I find.

Just ask them to level you up, and help you experience some of the actual content that isn't a mindless grind.

Was so excited this week for my two friends to log back on for the appreciation week.

Log on and find out they have been PL with there old R50 friends and are past my level now and don't seem to care ;_;

This upset me and my other friend a lot who were looking forward to playing together

How should i tell them with out starting an argument? How would you guys feel/deal this?

Yeah, leveling up is totally not fun, that's why every MMO makes you do it. I think the next gen MMOs will just let you start off with all classes capped out so you can get straight to grinding the good stuff....but then you're still griding. Oh you said "end game content" you must mean Garuda? TOO BAD MY FRIENDS BLM BURND THRU THAT ALREADY. /facepalm you all seem clueless as to the unintended consequences of these exploits. /thread.

Edit: anyone who says "grinding is not fun, that's why ppl PL" obviously didn't play FFXI in it's golden age.

I understand completely how you feel OP. You are one of the many unheard victims of PLing. It didn't just rob your friends of extra time to play and enjoy the game but also the opportunity for you to level along side with them. To form an appreciation for your Jobs and become stronger with each other's help. Sadly what is done is done. The best way to handle the situation is to be honest with them. Invite them into a party and have a conversation about how you and your other companion were really looking forward to Leveling up together. If you express how much you want to spend time with them so you can go through the 1-50 journey together it is possible you can convince them to take the correct path on another Job.

Don't accuse them of doing something wrong, just point out how much it upset you that you cannot cap with them. If they are your friends they should respond with empathy once they realize how important the Grind was to you. Then you can look forward to the next set of Job's you all take up.

If they are back just for the 10 days I'm sure they want to do the end game contents ASAP to try out the 10 days fully so I don't see nothing wrong them getting PL'ed all the way. Now if they are returning players to stay in the game forever then maybe you can ask them to level another job with you so you guys level together.

But personally leveling in this game is a joke, I'd rather get my level up to 50 and enjoy contents available for that level imo but that's just me, might be different for you.

I 2nd this. If there was at least more content to do in lower levels Id stop pling members in my ls and say go see the damn low level zones like some of the dungeons 11 had.

I really liked the concept behind power leveling, it affords people with limited time and friends who are high level to get them to up to par but after getting my jobs to 50 kind of regretted speeding through it. Now that the content is spent, including the primals. dungeons etc (not including acheivements.. have never been keen on that) all there seemingly is left to do for me is craft.

Out of bordom, kind of decided to start over without PL on a new taru and new server (so I wouldnt be tempted to get PL'D. ^^:: )

One of my favorite things was leveling, and meeting new people. Having adventures. Just recently got to level 13, and feel so weak getting beaten up by level 19 slugs T^T
But this is the most fun I've had in awhile. I've named my new character after a hidden boss in one of my favorite ff titles, "tactics"
