Shun Goku Satsu.Translation Healbot to English:
There's an accepted ideology in this game that "healers need to contribute to the team" and it's causing a lot of problems when I'm allergic to making any effort.
1. In any 8 player group there's one healer doing dps and keeping the group alive and one Medica II spammer. This demoralizes said healer who by comparison is exposed to be doing next to nothing.
2. People on the forums don't agree with me, therefore they must all be wrong.
3. I want to twiddle my thumbs and watch Netflix while pressing Medica II every 60 sec or so.
4. Your parses will mean nothing when I've let the group die and forced you to GCD heal and hardcast Raise because I go headless chicken whenever actual damage happens.
5. Why even bother playing this second-class-citizen thankless role when 90% of you would have more fun as a Red Mage?
Stop doing your job and quit the role please so I can continue wasting everyone's time. And when you rez, take the blame because they instantly cancelled transcendence by attacking.

I'm confused - I think people are thinking the OP is a healer // from what I'm reading, they are a dps who is tired of getting healers who only dps and let dps players or tanks die? So they want healers to actually heal instead of worrying about dps so much it seems.
Pardon me but where the hell are you people constantly finding healers that ONLY dps? Like seriously, where?
I can guess there are a couple of things happening to these people, as a healer main from HW-ShB I can attest to a few scenarios where it appears the healer is not healing.
1. If things die, there's no damage. I don't have to do more than a few oGCDs and 1-2 hard casted aoe heals through most content (especially something like a dungeon or Alliance Raid). These don't have cast bars or big animations and can be read as the healer not doing any healing, especially if you wove them into a glare/malefic/broil.
2. Vuln. Snacks. Sometimes no amount of healing is going to save you. So I won't even bother topping you off if you're looking 4 down the barrel and a raidwide is popping up.
3. You just ate two massive AoEs. I will swiftcast you, but since there wasn't a raid wide coming, I assumed you'd dodge after being smacked the first time. Generally as Sch, my fairy takes care of these people. I won't heal anyone above 50% unless I know big unavoidables are inc. Also, Bloodbath and Secondwind and other self heals exist. Use them. I assume you at least have them on your bars.
All these things can give the impression that I am not healing. These are some very common situations, and DPS should learn that healers do not exist to babysit you at Full hp.

This person has posted a lot of healer topics before. I don’t know if they are a healer main that wants to only heal, a tank main, a DPS main, or just one of the many trolls who plague the OF these days. It’s increasingly difficult to tell anymore, and “main class” beneath one’s avatar isn’t a decent reflection of what a person primarily plays. But this isn’t their first rodeo when it comes to “controversial” healer topics.I'm confused - I think people are thinking the OP is a healer // from what I'm reading, they are a dps who is tired of getting healers who only dps and let dps players or tanks die? These people are so militant when it comes to dps as healers in this game. They dont understand that the hyperbole and toxic behavior they spout has led to this influx of new healers, who do nothing but dps+oGCD heal at all costs. That they will let people they could easily save die. Because that was how they were told to play and be a "good" healer.I'm confused - I think people are thinking the OP is a healer // from what I'm reading, they are a dps who is tired of getting healers who only dps and let dps players or tanks die? They arent teaching people that group context matters for healing. That healing and dps performance is directly tied to group performance. A great group will only take the theoretical minimum amount of damage a fight can offer, allowing everything to be covered by oGCD healing so your free to dps. While a bad group will hit the theoretical maximum amount of damage and require far more GCD healing and have far less dps uptime. And that they need to adjust to cover for a group.
As long as they can remain calm for at least 1 GCD, but it feels virtually impossible sometimes when a large majority of players decide that it's the perfect time to give a live performance of the 'moonlight sonata 3rd movement' on their keyboards as they are being raised, thus they end up dropping back on the floor instantaneously.
