Error 90006

For the past 3 days, I have literally been unable to play FFXIV due to getting Error 90006 constantly, I have restarted my Router, rebooted my Router, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and still have been receiving this error. The most I can do as of late is just stand around in one of the major cities, watching people lag past me.

I have not had this issue before 3 days ago, and I've been consistently playing since Endwalker dropped, and if this issue keeps up, I'm most likely going to drop FFXIV and find another game to play since this issue is literally preventing me from playing.

Is anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?

One of the international link is down. I don't think it has anything to do with Square Enix. I used VPN to get a stable connection.

Well, I'm glad to know it's nothing to do with my connection or PC, is there any word on when it's going to be fixed?

VPN's can route your connection through different equipment and areas, avoiding things like breaks and bandwidth congestion which might contribute to errors.

Normal connections rely on ISP's routing. Some of the hops is not needed. One of my old ISP hops all over the country before it goes international. Connection isn't great.

Gaming VPN got their own routing. They have optimized hops to the game server. It still depends on your connection to the VPN though. Like WTFast doesn't work for me, Battleping is great.

Not sure why a VPN should be required to properly play a game that was already released globally.

Had no issues with this game or any other MMOs previously and suddenly, I need to pay extra for a VPN to play a game?

How about SE deduct the cost of the VPN from my monthly subscription if said VPN is deemed required to play FFXIV?
