Been getting constant disconnection n lags for the past 2 days. It is so bad that even the slightest checking ur retainers or porting into a zone gets u disconnected with 90006 error.
On Kujata. Unplayable.
If Square Enix wants to continue piss off players to unsubscribe, you are doing a great job!
Its either playable (normally) or unplayable (during maintenance), what the hell is this shit server which keeps disconnecting me with 90006 error every 10 minutes?
I have also been experiencing lag issues since 25th December. I do wish SE response swiftly to this problem or acknowledge this. It is frustrating when it happened while I was doing an extreme trial.
Even accessing my retainers give me lags of ard 10s b4 giving me 90006 error. It is almost to the point of unplayable. N we r paying for our subs.
SEA cable issue is specifically affecting players in those areas, but there are several nodes around the world that are dropping packets like mad for XIV lately.
Last time this happened, it was Level 5 (one of the backbone ISPs in the US) impacting Charter Spectrum customers coming from the East Coast. A node in Phoenix, AZ had triggered DDoS protections against FFXIV traffic because so much was pouring through to a handful of IP addresses. Our solution was to use a VPN to route around it.
The issue is now impacting players coming from the northeast and Quebec, but only on some ISPs. And in EU, it's impacting players coming from some countries, but not others, likely because only some of those countries are going through the bad node.
This is, unfortunately, a business to business issue between SE and the regional ISP nodes. They need to ask the ISPs not to turn on the DDoS protection at the volumes of normal traffic, which are admittedly a bit higher than they have been in the past. DDoS protection does still need to exist - so it's a matter of fine tuning the balance between allowing the legitimate traffic, and blocking malicious attempts.
its not the interaction that causes the lag, the interaction just makes it very obvious that you have lagspikes. Most likely the spikes are there the whole time, the game is just intelligent enough so you dont notice them at all when you just walk around
Got lag issue since around 24/25 Dec, but the lag is so bad I can't do any instance properly, not to mention the frequent disconnecting.. honestly, I was lucky the last 2 days most ppl dont vote kick me in any instance since I dc-ed every 5 minutes roughly X_X can't even finish a single player battle mainquest for progress.
I started playing ffxiv since 2020 but this is the first time this kind of issue persists.
I'm gonna repeat the thread starter: To whom it may concern, please do something about this.
I really want finish the EW story on this holidays :'(
Edit: I can play other games, n stream just fine.. only FFXIV got connection issues
Update: Okay for some reason my NA account works fine again after i tried to log into my JP account to chevk if it having the same problem or not(which is not , it was normal)
Then i tried to log back into NA ones again and now it got fix by itself and no more lag or delay anymore
Weird...
Not sure if something changed but my connection is back to "Excellent" (playing from Singapore). Trying a duty now but it seems all is good for now? Combat seems to have returned to its pre-bug/pre-lag state
