    Time Mage Framework Ideas

Hello I've been thinking for some time now how a Time Mage could work in Final Fantasy XIV, and I wanted to share my ideas with the development team even though I know it's a longshot of ever happening. I think Time Mage would be the perfect addition as our new Damage overtime caster since that is no longer Summoner identity.

    Time Mage (Final Fantasy XIV)

While not as powerful as Black Mages. Time Mages wield a wide array of spells which allow them to manipulate time. What they lack in firepower they supplement with the supportive magic they bring to the party.

    Key Features

Like the other jobs Time Mage will come with their own pros and cons; here is a short summary of key features that are brought by this iteration of Time Mage.

1.) Slow and Haste: Slow and Haste are one of the defining features of the job; however, altering the recast or cast time of your comrades does not equate better performance and you might actually be hindering your allies performance. So as a comprise these spells time altering aspects will be more cosmetic affecting only the auto attack speed of your allies, and rather offer an attack power increase similar to DNC dance partner. As for slow it’ll function similar to Addle.

2.) Acceleration and Deacceleration: Key abilities of the Time Mage which determines how fast your Temporal Stasis cycle finishes. When using Acceleration your gauge fills up faster; however, the damage potency of that Temporal Stasis cycle will be lower due to the fact that it lasted less time. Contrary Deacceleration allows your Temporal Stasis to last longer dealing more damage, but slowing the production of Temporal Continuum Charge. (Current Acceleration for RDM Renamed: Chainspell)

3.) Sublimation: Sublimation creates a MP reservoir by draining your HP overtime. The main purpose of this ability is to use it for MP recovery. You can also use Sublimation on your selected target to bestow upon the them your Mana Reservoir.

    Job Gauge

The Time Mage job gauge is composed of three elements:

1.) Hourglass Gauge: The Hourglass Gauge is the main feature of the Time Mage (TIM). it starts off full at the bottom and grayed out and upon using the ability Temporal Stasis the hourglass flips around and emits a greenish/purple color while sand falls to the other side of the hourglass functioning as a countdown for Temporal Stasis. Upon Temporal Stasis ending you gain access to your second resource which is known as continuum Gauge.

2.) Continuum Gauge: Each time your Hourglass Gauge completes a cycle your Temporal Continuum activates which is represented as a spiral underneath the Hourglass Gauge this charge allows you to amplify certain spells into advanced versions of the spells. Example: Haste becomes Hastega, Slow becomes Slowga, Rewind damage reduction becomes stronger.

3.) Sublimation Gauge: Around the hourglass gauge there is a outline tracing around the hourglass which represents how full your Sublimation gauge is. When the outline is completely blue or purple that indicates that your Sublimation ability is fully filled and ready to use. The Sublimation ability is very important for the MP maintenance of the Time Mage or it can be used on your allies to provide that extra oomph.

    Weaponry: Aetherwatch

The Aetherwatch is the weapon favored by the Time Mage you would wear the Aetherwatch around your neck and around your wrists you would have these magical wristbands. The Aetherwatch/w Wristbands aesthetic is determined by the weapon used. Attached below is a link of what I envision these Aetherwatches to look like.

Saw alot of flaws with the original idea so made changes to job gauge, and overhauled ability list. Tried to compress skills a bit too there was alot.

Even if you don't like Time mages or the addition of a new job, there is no denying this man has made an awesome concept and deserves more recognition for it.
I like your idea and support it.

Acceleration is already a RDM ability. And several of these other abilities just feel like AST.

A few of these ideas I did get AST vibes from it, but overall I love this concept and hope Time Mages will eventually make their way to FF14 Loved those spells in the previous games and would like to see it make a glorious return!
