How to avoid getting banned in this forum?

you can get banned for the weirdest things, though
I got a week long vacation for a funny meme, for example, it didn't insult anyone
friend got banned for politely defending herself against someone that insulted her and accused her of stalking - that person didn't get banned
multiple people, who 100% got reported because they insulted others for various reasons, didn't get banned
hell, my second vacation was for saying that someone and their FC are possibly mass reporting in a thread because everyone but their instigating posts got removed (and FC members then afterwards coming into the thread to insult multiple people that thought the same lmao)

the moderation is very weird at times

A certain poster had a few of us point out they were an alt of another poster that got banned for some really nasty stuff aimed at people here on the forms, and the dev team. I ended up getting a vacation due to a prior post I made addressing the original account, which they 100% dug up as a means of trying to retaliate. Despite me not using offensive language, calling their behavior something appropriate based on the vile stuff they were saying was enough to get me hit.

It really depends on the moderator who looks at it, and also who reports first. Basically has made me just decide to stick to only certain threads in the OF, as I've seen the moderation going downhill for years now - and that was kind of the last straw for me in terms of my faith in it improving.

I got banned for half a day because I was replying to someone saying their sources are incorrect in the most polite manner. My more sinister replies are still out there so I don't even know how they decide if something is against the rules, but hey, I'm not complaining lol

How do you know the other person didn't get a ban? Was it an alternate account of yours?
