and that begs the question as to why this should even be necessary if it's already something we have access to, just locked behind swapping to another job for ~20 seconds

Why should I have to switch to another job that I may not even have leveled yet?
Better yet; if there's already a job with infinite sprint outside of combat: Why is anyone arguing AGAINST every job getting this boost for the main cities?
another trick is
change job to nin doble teleport , change to reaper , another teleport , and then ranged for peloton![]()
if u have SCH 90 u can have another sprint ^^
I think they're suggesting you solutions for the here and now.
You don't even need to level a ranged job, you're high enough level to unlock dancer if you've got shadowbringers or beyond.

Fair, but a couple of the replies sound more like 'Why do your suggestion when we have <band-aid fix>?'
I do have dancer, but this is my first time resubbing in about a year, so I was not aware of any skills I could use in town.
Granted; opening my character panel, switching builds, closing it, and using the skill seems slower than just continuing to move as whatever class I am.
That just makes the question, "What's the point of this job having utility when all jobs should have the same thing!? Why can't my job have it too?!"
I'm sorry, but that complaint really just draws parallel to the complaints I see about Black Mage not having raise as a caster, or complaints about people needing to unlock NIN and DNC for gap closers to travel faster in the city. You're not really locked out of traveling faster or swapping jobs to use more movement skills in a main city, so it's more of a moot point. These things are more for job identity purposes if you want them, but you can live fine without them because of how abundant the aethernet is in the main cities.
I mean, realistically, where else are you going to use Peloton outside of dungeon/alliance raid running often enough? Why gut their purpose when their very purpose is designed for that?
An FC buff that makes sprint last 60 seconds in cities has already been added in Endwalker. What you are asking for is already in the game.
Really wouldn't mind 60 second sprint in towns to just be a baseline. I recently booted up Dragons Dogma again and the infinite stamina in towns felt stupidly good, one of my first thoughts was "Wow I wish I could do this in XIV!"
Having it eat an FC buff slot is just sorta lame.

My suggestion has nothing to do with combat, so h ow does it draw parallels to people trying to alter how classes work in combat? That just makes the question, "What's the point of this job having utility when all jobs should have the same thing!? Why can't my job have it too?!"

I'm asking for a non-class-based QoL change to give us sprinting speeds in cities, where there's no combat. HOW does wanting to stop waddling everywhere in a town draw a parallel with people wanting a rez in combat?
I don't get this 'Why not alter combat' parallel people are drawing. I'm not asking to change combat. I'm asking to move faster in cities because there's 0 point to walking slow.
There's no 'balance' to walking slow or fast in a city. So there's no parallel to people wanting to alter combat balance. At all.
Sorry; the parallel does not work.

I just like how people are so used to shutdown ridiculous ideas that when there's one that pops that isn't actually ridiculous, they spit out some of the most inane responses by reflex.
READ. CAREFULLY. PLEASE.
And take your time to understand the text. It's a sprint in TOWNS/CITIES. TOWN/CITIES. Repeat after me: TOWN/CITIES.
If you don't like it, understandable, but please actually come up with valid arguments as to why it isn't good. "I just don't like it for no reason" is perfectly also acceptable. I don't have any real reason to hate oranges but I just do.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
