    Summoner Needs to be buffed

    I have been playing Red Mage and Summoner back to back using various ways to determine damage output and Summoner is pulling waaaaaay below Red Mage which offers far more raid utility. Summoner clearly needs to a buff or it will have no place in savage raiding, please make some potency adjustments.

    That's the cost of it becoming the simplest class to play in the game and gaining ranged DPS tax with all the instants.

    I have bad news for you they will never buff SMN enough to surpass RDM, rdm rotation is harder so higher dps is warranted.

    They don't base potency values on difficulty because a) that's bad design, b) difficulty is also subjective.

    The "Ranged Tax" is a myth that needs to die because melees are capable of getting almost, if not a 100% uptime in fights and they have plenty of mobility tools to play with now.

    Job difficulty shouldn't be a factor either.

    No, it needs to remain with ranged DPS.
    It has the same mobility as a ranged, it's our "ranged tax hostage".
    If they want to buff SMN to be on par with melees, then they need to buff rangeds DPS and utility.

    Ranged Tax makes no sense as mobility is never exploited anywhere, there is no mechanic that needs you to run for 15 seconds. Actually there is but there's never any targets to hit.
    And this is why you can't balance around difficulty, if someone puts the works to learn their job, they should be reward for this.
    I've seen a top 50 SMN with the same damage as a barely average RPR.

    Kill the ranged tax or SMN stays with rangeds.

    Ranged tax hostage LOL, okay that got me.

    I don't know, I feel for Physical Ranged too for underperforming without any good reason. That should be looked at but the dev team just refuses to do anything about it and it's upsetting.

    If physical ranged gets lower DPS because of mobility then so too should summoner.

    Everyone saying simplicity warrants low dps... okay, so what about Reaper? I highly doubt its rocket science and puts out more dps then dps that actually needs to think before deciding to use aoe or single target.
