But the ones that summoned Zodiark were tempered despite having the full blown version.

The plot calls for us to fight Zodiark. Well crap how do we stop them from being tempered? Well...uh...IT WAS THE BLESSING OF LIGHT ALL ALONG!
There was a lot of events prior to now that practically stated the Blessing of Light was the counter to Zodiark. The fact that the Ascians did not try to touch us prior to losing the Blessing of Light in ARR (remember, Nabriales came at us the second we lost it). In HW Igeyohrm is able to overpower us easily right after Bismarck without the Blessing, but later when we have it we are able to deal with her and Lahabrea easily. In ShB Hades curses the Blessing of Light during his fight, something that seemed to reject his powers and Zodiark's powers. It makes sense with that knowledge why Zodiark would be unable to temper us, as the Blessing has warded off the Ascians since as early as 2.5

We had the blessing when she hit us after the Bismark fight it just wasn't at the power level it had been when Middy sealed the crystals.

"I see you have regained the Blessing of Light, albeit at a fraction of its original power" (or strength can't remember the exact verbiage since I'm at work but up until that last bit that is SIC)

I'm of the mind that the crystals amplified the Travelers Ward she cast on us and it was how it ended up including the rising stones in said protection. When middy sealed the crystals it ended up cutting off the shields "power" source so to speak so the bigger shield fell. *shrugs* buuuut uhm yeah this probably has no relevance to it anyway lol

And the Blessing of Light did nothing to stop Fandaniel from teleporting us inside the Tower of Babil. Crazy that.

Because it protects against "aetherial corruption." Something teleportation is not.

But us specifically having the Blessing prevents the Ascians from teleporting into the Rising Stones and Midgardsormr taking it away is how they were able to get Minfilia in ARR patches and led to the fight with Nabriales in the Chrysalis.

I would have to say the teleportation portion may be a little bit iffy on everything. Especially seeing how Lahabrea as Thancred was able to Transport a crap ton of Garlean Soldiers into the Waking Sands to decimate most of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn or the fact that Elidibus as just a "un bodied" Ascian was able to go into the Waking Sands after we had gathered a full set of Crystals. Granted with Lahabrea on Thancred we weren't at a full set but... this is one of the odd ones...

Though with what Nabriales explained was that the Ascians who weren't "of the source" (if memory serves me correctly) were held back by the Blessing not those of the source....

I was under the impression that all of the sundered Ascians are not of the Source, and that would include Fandaniel.

Regardless, if feels like a lot of the lore inconsistencies stem from ARR and I don't feel like the writers did a very good job at making everything line up over the course of the game's history since then. Part of the problem is probably multiple writers to begin with.

Fandaniel was of the source remember

his previous life was Amon and he was Allagan which was only on the source. Or I should say he is Amon not was he became Fandaniel after the Xande stuff but was still Amon at the time. Shoot when we fight him as the final boss in the aetherial sea dungeon he says he preferred being Amon and the body of Amon most of all.

Definitely will agree that there are a lot of inconsistencies stemming from ARR.

Ah that's true. I could have sworn that I read somewhere either in the game or out of it that each of the sundered Ascians were pulled from a specific shard they were assigned to.

May have been during Eden because I think, not 100% sure, that Gaia and Artemis where of the first.
