New luxury stuff is one HELL of a farm

Patch 6.0 brought new luxury stuff, such as Fallen Angel Wings and Wivre Horn which is a mount, both of them costs 50,000 Bicolor Gemstones, which you can get in Mor Dhona. Since you can't hold more than 1000 Bicolors, you exchange them for vouchers that cost 100 Bicolors each. You need 500 for those new items.

I did the quick math and calculated that you need to do around 3,500 fates in order to get enough Bicolors. Don't forget that to unlock special vendors that sell vouchers, you need to bring your Shared Fate level to 3 in all zones so that adds up to the number of fates. So, around 3800-3900 in total if you start from scratch.

What do you think about that? Isn't it a bit TOO much, even for hardcore farmers and grinders? Like, even if you do 100 fates PER SINGLE DAY, it will still take you 35-40 days to finish that hell of a marathon.

I prefer this than all the mounts and cool glam in the store, it's an insane amount of fates so I supposed is not intended for everyone or to have it in day 1.

Really not sure why everyone has to do everything immediately. You have the rest of your time playing the game to do it, why try to force it all in a month's time?

I think it's a bit much considering how low effort and how low quality the rewards we got are. Wow boxes, all of Garlemald to pull from for inspiration and we got boxes....riveting.

If you do 10 Fates a day, it'll take roughly a year which is pretty much in line with other long grind mounts, such as the S rank mounts or mentor roulette mount.

It's fine for me because you can buy the vouchers on the marketboard and no RNG is involved. So you don't have to grind Fates, you could grind gil in your preferred method and buy vouchers too. It also means bicolor gemstones will probably always hold value and keeps Fates relevant, because even if you don't care about the mounts and materials have crashed in price, you can always sell vouchers.

I prefer this to the Bozja bike mount.

Getting 50,000 gemstones will take about 175-200 hours if you stick to the normal FATEs. If you also farm the major FATEs once congestion dies down in a few weeks, it will take even less time.

Compare that to the over 600 hours I spent last expansion grinding for the Pteranodon mount. You're going to have a hard time convincing me that the Shared FATE rewards are too much of a grind.

Keep in mind these aren't rewards you're intended to have within a month. They're rewards you're supposed to work toward over the 2 year expansion cycle. An hour of FATE farming a day will get you both rewards within a year. That's not a bad grind at all if you do it slow as intended instead of trying to get the rewards as soon as possible.

Let's not discount that bicolor gemstones are now also the best way to acquire certain crafting materials, such as Leather. Very few people are going to have those mounts so the exclusivity will be a big draw.

If you just buy the bicolor scrolls off the market board, even at the higher end of 130k a pop you only need 65mil. That's pretty cheap considering the gold mounts are like 50mil, and some people have hundreds of millions of gil coming out the wazoo. If you shop around you can get the scrolls for much cheaper too, and the price will probably drop to even lower amounts.

ya, the new mount is very easy to obtain in comparison with others (astrope, pteranodon, triceratops, tiger, bulldog etc.)

they should keep it as it is. Also its nice, that battleclasses have a somewhat reliable way to make some gil now
