Thread: Audio Stuttering since 6.0/6.01

The stuttering distorts all game sounds including system sounds, music and especially job gauge, limit break and chat alert sounds.

Muting all but the system sounds will not stop the distortion.

Muting system sounds but enabling any sounds does not stop the distortion.

Lowering my desktop pc audio controls does not stop the distortion.

I first noticed this during FATES in Endwalker areas.

At first it only occurred occasionally and specifically during FATES but it got progressively worse and peaked after patch 6.01. It is now unbearable to play my game with sound if I engage in any battle with more than myself, the npc and chocobo but even then it occasionally occurs.

The stuttering, delay and distortion is worse when playing physical or ranged physical dps but also occurs with magic dps.

The issue increases depending on the amount of active players and npc's are engaged in the same battle as me.

The issue now occurs always during FATES with one more more players engaged in battle with the fate but less often when there are less people or NPC's around or if I am soloing the FATE with my chocobo.

It also occurs during solo battle with mobs.

It also occurs during Hunt Train.

It occurs in all FATES in and outside of Endwalker zones including ARR, SHB and Stormsblood area FATES.

It sometimes occurs in dungeons during large trash pulls in between bosses both Endwalker and non Endwalker dungeons. I experienced it today during Main scenario roulette in Castrum Meridianum whenever there were npc/mobs being attacked but less often with boss encounters.

The only way to avoid this other than completely disabling all game sounds is to not engage in any battle or be near one. The issue does not occur in town or during crafting in a busy area like Radz at han with many players crafting. It does not occur in my in game house or apartment.

I have not tested a striking dummy in a housing area but it does occur when engaging in solo battle with striking dummies outside of housing areas, with or without chocobo.
