Since Naoki Yoshida's favorite game is WoW and FFXIV's gameplay systems is based much on the past WoW systems, it makes sense for square enix to follow in the footsteps of WoW and make the next expansion in the afterlife. Just don't make covenant and borrowed power systems. Keeping the current system with an afterlife setting will be a match made in heaven. What do you guys think?

There's like two dungeons in the Aetherial Sea now. That's the afterlife. It's less an afterlife and more "The place your soul is broken down into its base aether and reincarnated to perpetuate the cycle of life"

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't look like this at the end of the expansion.

Everyone is friends now because reasons and the universe is saved. End of Shadowlands and knock-off budget Thanos.
