It depends a little on the encounter and circumstances. In perfectly optimized parties, yeah its a loss to Diag to get a Toxikon.
Even in fights where the boss never goes untargetable, the best it can do is DPS neutral since you're trading a Dosis now to get that Dosis back while moving later on to deal with a mechanic that might otherwise cause a skipped or late GCD.

It just sits in a weird place lol. Its not a DPS loss to use a Toxikon, but most of the time it is a DPS loss to generate one lol.
I really wish E-Prog shield breaks generated Adderstings as well.
At least that way we'd get 3 free DPS GCDs off anytime a raidwide happened.

Really wish they'd take a step towards fixing Healer issues by upping the frequency of all unavoidable damage.
I'm starting to think that the issues we face are down to the class designers building the jobs similarly to a DPS job with all our oGCD heals aligning perfectly with incoming damage, leaving GCD heals to gather dust.

Just be brave SE, take unavoidable raidwides and give them a random cooldown so they just do it whenever they feel like it instead of scripting it so heavily T_T
I do wish they'd give us Savage 4-mans where they just massively boost Auto damage from bosses and just take ALL their abilities off script with no cooldowns. Some of those dungeons would get mighty hectic lol.

You shouldn't do this. You should just heal the tank.

Hi, part timer healer player who only GCD heals because I believe healers should be healers. I also press my major healing CDs at 95% health and like eating paste.

SGE is too complicated and makes no sense and should be changed. Addersgall should be like lilies that encourage healing and kardia should be removed cause healers should heal. It's way too unintuitive as it is. I don't even put Dossis on my hotbar and shouldn't have to.

As a former White Mage player (let's not get into the thin air nerfs, shall we) it's incredibly frustrating that sqenix ignores what gameplay feels like for healers. Just make kardion work whenever you cast ANY gcd. I shouldn't be forced to spam damage moves when my tank is dying.
You're doing it wrong. Sage works if you weave your shields and AOE instant casts between your DSP. If you do it right everyone stays with full health, a bit of yellow, and you haven't stopped DPSing once. I can pull off a ton of healing with sage, the only tricky bit are tank busters and Dark Knights. ie if your main tank is a Dark Knight and they are hit with a tank buster and the Dark Knight didn't use their cooldowns correctly, or timed them wrong. So you have to actually heal them.

Sadly the Sage learning curve is steep, and most don't seem to get it, and try to react to damage instead of trying to maintain the shields. The more yellow bar you see the better.
