My previous post was at 4:53 PM. It's now 5:53 PM. After waiting through the last queue, I got logged in briefly. Started working with my retainers again. I had barely summoned the first one before the crash happened again. I immediately fired up the launcher, got back into yet another queue, this one is now 2k+. Rinse, repeat. One more crash and I'll go play my old game WoW, at least until later on this evening when the queues will have tapered out a bit. It's getting so, so frustrating.

I think that "ffxiv_dx11" errors are not the same as Fatal DirectX errors. The application file from which FFXIV executes is named ffxiv_dx11.exe. So ""ffxiv_dx11" errors are probably not caused just by graphics issues, could be anything up with the client.

It's a "catch all" error. Windows event viewer redirects it to Hardware errors even though there's nothing wrong with peoples hardware, it's their garbage code that is conflicting with all kinds of different things, some people have issues because of USB devices, others memory settings and other stuff.

Crashed again 5 times today. Each time I can play for about 15-20 minutes and then the dreaded error dialog comes up again. Twice it completely froze everything on my machine, forcing me to do a hard reboot.

    DX 11 Crash

It is very annoying! I have been having the fatal directx error 11000002 spontaneously, maybe once or twice a day which seems lucky. Sometimes it locks up or crashes my PC entirely. R5 3600 / RX 6600 / 750w psu / 16gb ddr4 / good mobo all stock and running cool. Does not happen with other games. I play at 4k 60 capped standard settings. Have tried literally everything and apparently this has been happening for awhile now with other people even trying entirely new windows reinstalls to no avail. It's really rough with the queues, please help support team!

Help! My game is getting worse and worse with these crashes. I can barely remain anywhere for long before FFXIV either shuts down or freezes and locks my whole PC down along with it.

There must be a way for us to get this fixed. Please respond and let me know, thank you very much.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We would like you to try some of the following suggestions as the DirectX errors can stem from Windows related issues, corrupt files, confliction programs etc:

    ■ Toggle between Windowed mode and Full Screen mode
Programs → SQUARE ENIX → FINAL FANTASY XIV → Launch FINAL FANTASY XIV Config
Configuration Button → Screen Settings Tab → Change settings in Screen Mode
It is possible that changing the screen mode will allow the program to run properly.

    ■ Lower the resolution
From the FINAL FANTASY XIV Config and the in-game config menu, you can change settings to reduce graphical processes, such as shadows and texture quality.

    ■ Update graphics drivers
If the graphics drivers are outdated, the game may not run properly.
If using a commercial computer, check the help manual when updating.
If using a home-built computer, update the relevant drivers for your graphics card, typically found on the manufacturer's website.

    ■ Disable/uninstall security programs and firewalls for the game program
There is a possibility that security programs and firewalls are interfering with the game program. Please disable these programs or add FINAL FANTASY XIV as an exception before attempting to run FINAL FANTASY XIV. Especially following installation or version updates, game files may be targeted by these functions.

    ■ Close any running applications/Clean Boot
Because other applications may interfere with your installation, close all other running apps before running the installation file. You can perform a clean boot to ensure no other background programs are interfering with the installation by doing the following:

    - Open the Task Manager and select the 'Start Up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    ■ Remove peripheral devices to create a simpler environment for the program to run
Remove any peripheral USB devices (gamepads, cameras, microphones, headsets, etc.) to create a more stable, simple environment for your computer to run the program. If the situation improves, update the driver software for the removed devices. Consult the help manual of your peripheral device for instructions on updating the drivers or related software.

    ■ Reinstall FINAL FANTASY XIV
If the installed data has been corrupted, the issue may be resolved by re-installing the program.

If you have played before, make sure to delete the 'Final Fantasy XIV' folder in the 'My Documents' → 'My Games' folder. You can re-download the Windows game client at the following link: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na. Steam users should re-install from their Steam Library.

As for your system specifications, while the 2nd Gen Intel i7 may be suitable for the game based on the system requirements, compatibility issues may arise with Windows and various programs as the processor itself is already 9 generations old. It might be a good idea to look into a system upgrade as a friendly recommendation to avoid alternative issues that can result from using older hardware.

We hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for contacting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!

Stop being useless and actually come up with a real solution like having the devs patch this!!!

My wife logged out and got that error, I logged a good 15 min later and got the same....

EDIT: lol imma not reinstall a 50gb game for nothing, i had 0 problems until 6.0 hit and the last patch made it worse, during 5.5 i could run two games on 4k literally the whole day and it would be fine... something got messed up.
