Mature player Looking for FC/Friends

My name is Glen, but I go by Lex in most of my online life. I’ll try to keep this brief since I’m normally a very wordy dude.

I’m just returning to FFXIV and I’m planning to totally immerse/dedicate to the game since I found a few exceptional video tutorials on Youtube helping me understand elements of the game better. I have always played on PC, but I briefly got a PS4 and tried it on the console and after finally understanding the control scheme and customizing it I had a lot of fun. No longer have the PS4, but I’m planning to get one since I did enjoy it. I’ve played off and on since re-launch but haven’t been on in some time. I miss the great community and the beauty of the game and Eorza.
My previous main character is a lvl-30-Archer/lvl-27-Thaumaterge, Viera named Sweet Entropy on Siren.

I just created a new character on Famfrit to re-familiarize myself with what I forgot/never knew. She is currently a lvl-14-Pugilist, Hyur. Played her for a few hours last night and had a lot of fun, even though I was playing solo and without chatting.

I’m an old fart (51 yrs old) and it’ll probably take me a little while to relearn and learn what’s new. I’m looking for new friends and an active and newb friendly FC that welcomes newbies and has some way to voice-chat while playing, Discord preferred.

I have an odd schedule as I am a day sleeper who lives in CST. I’m mostly able to play very late/overnight/into the morning in CST on Mondays-thru-Wednesdays. I’d prefer playing with other mature gamers who also have lives to manage outside the game, “old” nerds like me, or at least friendly players I can relate to. I’m a reasonably intelligent dude with a good personality who can be either serious or just goof off as the particular session’s mood requires. I would really like to stay for the long haul this time, learn the mechanics of roles, get absorbed in the lore, and get to end-game content with a regular group to have fun with. I’m watching a lot of Youtube tutorials and trying to make sense of them so I can get going on console. I’ll be playing on PC until I get a new console and then I’ll play as my mood dictates.
