If I am honest I did too. Seems the first big city after the first dungeon on a game had it I thought. It shocked me it was so light there. Esp with a crafting area but no marketboard? Kind of a small handicap to crafting.
Wise men speak because the have something to say, fools because they have to say something. - Plato - He saw the ff forums apparently.
Mor Dhona, no board.
Iddylshire, no board.
Rhalgr's Reach, no board.
Eulmore, no board.
What do all of these have in common? Collectables appraisers are found in each.
mor'dhona isnt really a town, iddlyshire also not really a town, nor is rhalgr reach.
in stormblood it would be ala migo that needs the marketboard. Heavenward didn't have a 2nd town...
Eulmore hated your guts during the story (for most of it) so it made sense + it was basicly sin city
this time it makes no sense what so ever because lore wise radz-at-han is a merchent story that respects us MORE THAN SHARLYAN does during the story until the very end.
While Radz-at-Han makes more sense as "the market town" theoretically, I think it's the other way around for practical/visual setup reasons.
The marketboard only takes up a small amount of space (the board itself and a retainer advocate stall, and eventually a "Rowena's representative" standing in a corner somewhere) while the endgame tome sellers require at least four NPCs selling or trading for different aspects of the endgame gearing process. This suits filling up Radz-at-Han's sprawling bazaar with functioning stalls.
For some reason the devs don't like putting market boards in a lot of areas.
I believe the point is also to push players to congregate in less areas for server usage purposes, and to reduce potential loopholes like RMT stuff.
It's also why you'll notice the mog mail is so far away from markets.
-looks at limsa- ya that doesn't work at all because its just shoving everyone into limsa so if thats the point they have is failing horribly then. more marketboards would prevent that issue
They are not current Tomestone vendors as in Radz-at-Han. I am strictly speaking of current. The splendors vendors are both tomestone vendors and raid token vendors.
There is no Inn, etc. All cities should have every current amenity.
/quote10charI just wish the splendors vendor near the main city aetheryte wouldn't have to wait until the expansion is no longer current. Just put out a splendors vendor next to the Sharlayan aetheryte already. The splendors vendors have much easier to use menus than the endgame counter NPCs have.
