Castle Pandemonium. Seeing the castle of hell rise to the surface would pretty much scream epicness.

Chocobo forests.
Dunno how it would work but the idea sounds cool.

The most disappointing part of most mmos, especially this FF mmo, is lack of classes. Look at the variety of classes in 1, 5, 11. In 14, we should at least see a good portion of those classes found in 11. My faves are in the list below, but I can't believe that the basics from 1 haven't been brought into the game. No Red Mage or Thief? That is a crime against the series. Small shout out to blue mage, puppet masters, ninjas and corsairs (because who doesn't want to choose between pirate and ninja in a mmo?).
1) Summoner class. I want a really good story with this class quest chain, though. Think about ff4,6,10... the summon spells played an amazing part of those stories. Do not repeat 12... in fact, let's forget 12 was made.
2) 4 fiends (these were ffiv exclusive, but they basically existed in 1 without the names).
3) Jaggedy eared jack. (ffxi)
4) Thief class. Reference to Locke (and quest chain called 'search for the phoenix')? (ffvi)
5) Biggs and Wedge cameo.
6) Cid. (apologies if he is already in the game, but I haven't run into him yet)
7) Reference to ffiv space ship.
8) Moogle race selection.
9) Chocobo raising.
10) A complete rework on zones. When I leveled in ffxi, I felt that I was moving into completely new areas every 10 levels ish. Think how different it felt to go from West Ronfaure to La Theine Plateu to the dunes? You weren't even 20 by this point. I've leveled to just above 20 on leve quests near Gridania and find myself extremely bored with the zones.
He is. He's part of the Grand Company/Seventh Umbral Era questline.
Same here. I'm really excited for Odin in 2.0 for this fact.
Add a free roaming dungeon like the Lunatic Pandora from FFVIII. Where ever it roams stronger rare monsters will spawn in that zone, and players/groups can go explore inside and advance all the way to the top. It can be like a weekly event kind of thing. It could be a broken piece from Dalamund.
People will be running all over the place. I love chaos.
