i would love to see new cities based of famous FF cities like Narshe, figaro and midgar. The FF series have so much fantastic content, devs use it as inspiration!

Happy to see a lot of true FF fans in this threads and who know what they are talking about. And not the usual XI fans pretending to know anything about FF when they never played any.
Just like the primal fights, how awesome would it be to fight past vilains? Kefak and Sephiroth fights.... now that would be cool.
A: Absolutely nothing other than the bestiary and the well-known spells and abilities, many of which are already in the game. What past Final Fantasy concepts would you apply to XIV?
More original stuff please and thank you, especially after so much stuff that was original in this game got cut out of it.

Yup. Cameos are fine and dandy but I don't want anything copy/pasted into this game... EXCEPT TRIPLE TRIAD!

i wonder if SE doesnt already have this in mind. It kinda fits with Yoshi-P's vision of FFXIV beign like a themepark. They got legacy weapon coming in 2.0 (which i think means weapons from past FF games). And i may be mistaken but i think Yoshi-P did mention in a post or interview that we wish to bring elements from past FF games. Maybe he meant the legacy weapons, maybe he meant more.
WTV i think this is a genius idea and any true FF fan will welcome it.

Water spells. lol

I'd like:
Chemist - makes use of items for battle/healing.
Geomancer - uses terrain to deal damage.
Summoner - SUMMONER!
But like it was said above, what I really want is something unique.
^lol this too! Funny how they removed water spells but made a lower level hat have water magic potency +5 ... and it's piratey looking! hmmm...
* I fully give permission for any of my written ideas to be used by SE without recognition.
I would bring back elemental gear. Gear that increases / reduces / nullifies / turns into hp incoming elemental damage.
And spells that hurt anything in range , even the caster.

Blue Magic
Blue Mage in FFXI was my heart and soul in that game, and was an EXCELLENT way to get players out and exploring the whole wide world.
