But the OP doesn't want to do that. They want to be at 90 and MSQ finished, to participate in the end game that their friends are doing. So really just "eat your vegetables before dessert" mentality.
"Tough cookies, this part you don't enjoy isn't even that long, power through it before you are allowed to have fun."
Well, that's exactly how all "Tales of Adventure" items from the optional items store work. If someone wants to grind dungeons/fates/potd/bozja to 90 they are free to do it, I guess.

As I said before, completing MSQ means you went through all the dungeons and trials, at least an attempt will have been made to do instanced group content. You can still fudge these with overgeared people carrying you through but even that is still at least a dip in the pool rather than skipping them entirely.I really don't see how someone completing MSQ will help with it. It is quite literally designed to be as accessible as possible. Someone having "Endwalker" under completed quests doesn't have any correlation with their competence in the game.
It's also worth noting that I'm talking exclusively about MSQ skip. It's an entirely separate item from level skip. I wouldn't advocate for instant-90 item. But the quests themselves? I really don't see the harm.
Someone can level to 90 in a couple days from 80 .. if not 70 (I got reaper to 80 in a day so I could do MSQ during early access), so honestly levels mean less experience wise (not XP points) .
I don't think the actual story quests are important, but ratcheting up through the content is and is probably the only actual gating going on. Story fluff CAN be mostly skipped and is at most like 15-20 hours of required walking/instances. It's a pittance.
If someone COULD skip all the story but still be required to do the group content to get to the end content I would have far less problem with it.. but I'm betting this isn't OP's ask.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

If your friends do not take their time to play with you from 80 to 90, I can guarantee to you they will not give time to you when you are 90 and will try to gear up, or learn the raids or extreme trials,... which is what they are probably doing now.
I had similar experience in WoW and I do not have these people as my friends anymore.
There are a lot of things your friends could do to help you level.
e.g.: Enter Bozja with you to quick farm, Enter fates with you to quick farm, enter dungeons with you to quick farm...
Then you can "skip" the cut scenes in the game when they play if you wish to. You can do this by clicking esc and clicking yes. The only thing you must do is the single instances that belong to the MSQ. I really don't think this would take that long, I can genuinely think that with skipping the discussions you can be done in max 2 days and be at "their level".
But you wont have their gear level, you will not have their knowledge on the mechanics and you certainly will still play alone if they are already struggling to help you out ...

I'd just like to throw in a reminder that even if it was possible to buy a 'story skip' (which I still think is a terrible idea), leveling from 80 to 90 is still a rather time consuming endeavor. I've been dungeon spamming to get my AST down that very road and after many hours of doing so, I'm still not 90. So, unless the story skip also came with a lvl 90 boost, OP would still be a long way from catching up with their friends. At least cutscene-skipping through the MSQ gives a pretty nice chunk of XP, because the game was designed to level that way.

Cause dungeons are the slowest way to level. Bozja southern front is the fastest as it has an exp boost now and people finish Fates in literal 30 seconds.... I leveled my dancer from 80 to 85 with dungeons and when I entered Bozja it was like my whole world changedI was done in less than one instance of bozja.

Gonna be straight with you here, I don't even have Bozja unlocked <.< I got here pretty late into ShB, went through the entire story from ARR to current (twice) and then experimented with jobs until Endwalker dropped. I do enjoy dungeon spamming to familiarize myself with my abilities, especially since I'm fairly new at AST (picked it up right before Endwalker dropped). The job suffers from button bloat at the moment so I've had to create some new keybinds to accomodate them and am now practicing using said new keybinds without twisting my fingers into knots, all the while tackling dungeons that still hold a degree of difficulty for me.Cause dungeons are the slowest way to level. It's not the most efficient leveling method, but it's what works for me given the circumstances, especially as a new-ish player. Still, though, I'll keep that in mind for future jobs, so thank you for the tip! <3

Is this all of bozja or just the 2nd area? As much as i really dont want to do more fates, if the exp is good i could still go for it.Cause dungeons are the slowest way to level. Oh, well I would then recommend Fates in any EW zones. Just group up with people to be able to clear them fast. And always eat your food as most food has a 3% exp boost. And the dailies also give extra exp so its recommended to do them. MSQ gives a ton shit of experience for example. i know it also takes a lot of time.
But good news for you, I just read the recent patch notes and it said that 80 to 90 dungeons are now having better exp gain.
I always recommend anyway to unlocking Bozja as it does not only give you exp but while you farm you get things that you later can use or sell on the marketboard. (You esentially get notes, that you can trade for loot boxes, some of the boxes give chocobo clothing, bunch of armor glam, housing items, mounts, minions, etc... there are obviously useless things too, but such is the way of randomized boxes.) And if you do the quests you may also make a relic weapon that is shiney for some classes (for other classes it looks like shite)
The southern front (that is not Zadnor) the full southern front (all 3 bases), but you can probably start farming on level one, but that would make it significantly slower.

Trust XP isn't bad either with the dungeon XP buff. Typically like 3 dungeon runs per level, I've found. Works pretty well if I feel like ignoring other people or annoyed with Roulettes.Oh, well I would then recommend Fates in any EW zones. Just group up with people to be able to clear them fast.
