Buy the story skip. But you will have to do EW MSQ like it or not. SE gives you the option to bypass older expansions and EW with skipping every single thing should take a maximum of 12-15 hours so there you go. Pay 22€ and stop crying over sth that already has a solution. One thing though if you do that with a job you're unfamiliar...well dungeons or w/e you wanna do won't go as smoothly as you believe GL.

You won't be prepared for endgame content by doing the MSQ either.

If you don't have the time to at least cutscene skip the current expansion MSQ, though, you likely don't have the time to do endgame either.

Some people just want to smack the hard stuff. That's perfectly fine-- it's their choice. I'd rather people skip to the end, raid to their heart's content (once they learn how to endgame), then potentially double back to experience the story and other content than not play at all.

I do not think skipping to the end of the current expansion makes sense at all, though. It's very much a "at least try the story" thing for me, but I'm not going to show anyone the door if they try it and don't like it.

Msq prepares you very much for endgame.

Doing the story teaches you the mechanics of the game. If you buy a skip you will be doing a disservice to yourself and cause a lotta headaches. It's not like WoW where everything but raids are tank and spanks. On top of that you'll feel more invested in end game stuff if you played through the story. Also FF14's raids and endgame dungeons are not the main draw of this game though they are very fun. Most dungeons post HW are not as simple as in ARR.

All my friends play this game and they are already done with MSQ. I have barely started because I don't have a lot of time especially with the long queues. I don't care about the story I just want to have a good time with my friends doing dungeons. But I haven't been able to do that because everything new is locked.
The game is actively preventing me from playing with my friends. I have cried over this.
I want to have a good time when I get home from work and not be stuck running from point A to B for days completely alone because I have to earn the ability to not be alone in a multi-player game.

At this point I regret asking my friends to play this game with me because I isolated myself because I can't keep up anymore.

Please just let me play with my friends.

Why aren't your friends helping you get through MSQ faster? MSQ goes extremely fast when you skip cutscenes, don't read dialog - and get your friends to run you through the required dungeons and trials unsynced. Even unsynced they're going to earn Poetics for helping you with your first time through the dungeons.

If you asked them to come play the game with you, how did they get ahead of you so far? Sounds like they're less friends and more just people you know if they aren't already playing with you.

Are they not helping you out with MSQ? I have friends who don't get to play much and are still in Shadowbringers. Every time they log in, I make time to help them through their quests. We just fought Vauthry a couple nights ago. Sounds like your friends just don't want to play with you. Find new friends.
