I finished it in 4 days.
Played daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM my time. I took days off work for this.

Lots of reasons. Maybe they don't have a job or took off, or work hours that allow them to log in without dealing with a long queue. Maybe they speed through the story, whereas you are taking your time to enjoy it? A lot of people don't care about the story and will just speed through to get to the end game content, whether it be raiding or crafting or whatever.
Either way, don't let it change the way YOU play. I just finished MSQ over the weekend and I made sure to enjoy every moment of it. I did not rush. I talked to all the NPCs, did a lot of the side quests. I enjoyed myself and the story.
"I am Velius, the devil" - Velius, FFT
Someone I know well finished the story in precisely 37 hours and 50 minutes of no skipping of anything. I saw them online throughout this time (and a while afterwards too), they said they didn't go to bed at all. Probably took days off. They still keep playing for long hours to level everything to 90 and keep their Mentor status.
Meanwhile I'm at the halfway point despite playing since launch (was still doing ShB during early access). I play with my partner in leveling dungeons for a bit so that breaks the flow often.
Mortal Fist
Finished it in 2 days. Luckily its weekend. Just eat, play and sleep.
Full MSQ, no sidequests.
Ignore blue quests unless its on the way.
Only do Aether Currents if it is nearby.
DR at 87-88 because it was not enough to level.

Honestly if you just focus the main quest you can finish the Endwalker MSQ in a Weekend, of course it depends a bit on luck with the que time for trials and dungeons and on the groups for trials. To be honest i think the trials should be placed outside the msq, because if you dont get a good group it can be like a stupid content blocker and take hours to finish. For my taste they take to long and are to hard for normal MSQ content and should be placed in savage mode.
Wiped a few times on T1. I analyzed T1 and tell them what to do. One shotted the rest.Honestly if you just focus the main quest you can finish the Endwalker MSQ in a Weekend, of course it depends a bit on luck with the que time for trials and dungeons and on the groups for trials. Skip cutscenes and dialogue. The story is honestly not really that good in my opinion. I much prefer single player final fantasy stories, but that’s just me.
I just had this conversation with a friend just this morning.
Don't care for XIV's story anymore tbh and like the others waaay better.
This is probably the worst imo but opinions are just that lol.
Good luck not getting berated for it though.
100% dis agree Endwalker is the finishing story of possibly the best single player RPG story I have ever experienced. As a huge Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, SW:KTOR, and Jade Empire fan I put this game above anything from Bioware, and you know why, I took my time reading all the quest text, and realized what was going on the whole time I have been playing since 2015. I can't name another RPG or JRPG that has caused as many emotions in me as FFXIV.
