Given the name I'm 100% expecting it to be a project from the Loporrits to entertain people and now I can't get the idea out of my head of a new NPC named Gaminway hosting a game show and the contestant being the people of Etheirys... y'all are welcome.
World of Void in the 13th...Am I a joke to you? These story threads have been setup so perfectly I would be shocked if there is not something major coming. My guess is it starts with a major invasion starting in 6.1.
I've seen people mention wanting 7.0 to focus on going to the 13th shard and some how restore it from its Void status but I just don't see it happening.
The lore established the 13th was corrupted by Darkness so badly that not even the Ascians could reverse the effects to a point little amount of the 13th shard remains where the 13th shard once was. The World of Darkness is basically all that is left of the 13th shard while everything else is a Void of Darkness.
If they are going to explore more of the 13th Shard, I expect it maybe a side content being either a Raid, Alliance Raid, or some kind of exploration content that maybe used for 7.X Relic weapons.
The 13th just seems like something that's much in the writing team's back pocket for them to just immediately pull it out. I can't see anything directly happening with that for a few years out. I also don't wanna rule out going to places within Eorzea itself because there are still a number of places that exist but aren't actually accessible in the current game in any form (like the Coerthan Lowlands, O'Ghomorro, or Southern Mor Dhona).
Exactly, you're probably the most known person in Eorzea and surroundings if you stack the reputation the WoL has been building up ever since ARR. I would think it would be kind of unrealistic to think that such a reputation would not spread even to some degree into the New World or Meracydia (if there's even something there to begin with).I really liked Shadowbringers for that.
You're nobody in these lands and knows nothing of Norvrandt.
The reputation in EW only worked in Garlemald where it was simply "ono, the hero of savages".
As for the 7.0 areas, I'm not going to forget "The final chapter of this star" and was initially thinking the WoL would visit and save other stars.
I won't even try to hide my huge bias for the Omicrons, they colonized many planets. One of their colony as a star to save would be amazing to me.
All areas mentioned on Aetherys could be side content. After all, Emet mentioned the secrets behind the twelve and we're going to have a 24 man raid about that.
The best way to weave in a whole new story arc is to explore another shard, especially because the Scions can't really travel through them at will, so you would have to get to know a new cast of characters. I totally trust the writers into delivering good stuff in that regard. Or heck, I wouldn't even mind if Gaia would be one of those - they would have to make Eden series completion mandatory, but hey they did that with Crystal tower anyways.
And still, this would make the unexplored areas from the Source into side content, and even having the Scions to be featured there, since they are no longer officially franchised.
It was mentioned in a moment of Endwalker by Gaius that while WoL is well know throughout the world BUT most people do not know what WoL directly looks like since their information is based on only stories they heard from others.Exactly, you're probably the most known person in Eorzea and surroundings if you stack the reputation the WoL has been building up ever since ARR. This is reflected a lot by how a lot of NPCs react to WoL at first throughout 2.0 to current content as WoL names tugs at them at first until it hits them later that he/she is the legendary WoL they heard about from the stories being told.
I can only assume the stories about WoL are overly exaggerated to a point his/her appearance in those stories is not so accurate description of his/her appearance.
I agree. Exploratory content into the 13th would fit it much better. This way they can expand the lore on it and allow it to be explored without messing with any of the previous known lore about it earlier in the game.I've seen people mention wanting 7.0 to focus on going to the 13th shard and some how restore it from its Void status but I just don't see it happening.

This did happen, but it's clearly locked behind having one of each role leveled, role quest for each completed, and Warring Triad completed. I don't see them requiring this of new players to access an expansion area.
Only options are to remove most of those requirements or make it side content that they can justify behind a content wall.
As long as “the new world” comes with a dual-wielding gunslinger, I’m good to go.
Maybe we can time travel back to when the Allagan Empire was at its peak
