And yeah, if what the MSQ has shown us about how blasphemies work is how it is, should not possible for places like Hingashi and perhaps Meracydia to not be spared from them at all. I kinda expect that Hingashi would be forced to get outside help for a threat they nothing about with all the suffering happening inside their country.
(Suffering = emotional distress = blasphemies tended to happen in the MSQ pre-Meteia)
If they're addressed, I bet it'll be side story content
Well, to be fair, we and people we know have done things that the Ascians have thought were impossible. So who knows.
That being said, I do think it's more likely to be side content than MSQ. Probably the Warring Triad quest will be required, but not all of the Shadowbringers Role quests, they'll handwave and say they did everything the quests did while you weren't looking, and if you don't do them some dialogue will be different like the "Eorzea Assemble" moment in Endwalker. (Though honestly, people should do them, they're some of the best and I love all the characters).

Venat says she’s the last of her kind so I guess the missing four were done away with off-screen.
If true, it’s kind of a sucky way to address that but at the same time I am sick to death of Ascians, Garleans, and Allagans and I want a story that’s fresh and new and doesn’t lean on any of those.
It is possible those four Ascians maybe have been killed off by a different group of heroes. We never did learn where they were stationed on the Source.
I am only guess but I think these four may have been killed off in the New World by the characters who maybe WoL new companions for Season 2. One of the most important part of FF14 story is the emphasis about how everyone has their own story but we can never see all of these stories since our view is focused on our character's story and experience in the world. It is why we can never judge characters on first impressions because their story that lead up to that moment that we never seen is the foundation of their actions once they reach that point.
We also just had our first Trial Trust in 6.0 and I suspect this was just a test for Trust Trials in Season 2. If they plan to have Trust Trials for Season 2 involving the New World's primals then it stands to reason the new companions can also fight primals without being tempered.
This would also setup a reason for maybe one or two of WoL's new companions in Season 2 to appear during 6.1 to 6.55 if Season 2 focus on mostly the New World since people of the New World have little contact with Eorzea and nations that trade or make contact with them so they will not know about events of Season 1 and maybe completely unaware about WoL existence. Thus this new companion or companions travel to Eorzea to find WoL due to hearing about WoL from the four Ascians they defeated, seek to defeat the leadership of Ascians but are unaware they are already defeated, or to obtain information about what caused the Final Days on their side of the world due to lacking information that Eorzea and their allies have.
It may even make a comical first encounter as well if they go down the "enter Eorzea to defeat the Ascian leadership only to find out later they are already defeated" route with WoL's first companion. That companion talking about his or her journey in the New World to defeat the four Ascians what is basically his/her own Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringer to WoL and how that journey leads him/her here to Eorzea in hopes of defeating the Ascian leadership to end the Ascian threat for good which would have been his/her Endwalker only to be told by probably WoL that they are already defeated.

This is my view as well. Everyone is always clamoring for Meracydia, The New World or even other shards but we have not fully explored the Three Great Continents yet. The map of Ilsabard is incomplete even though it is listed in the locations on the world map unlike Eorzea and Orthard which have maps for them. There is also the whole Garlean Civil war that was set up, more nations gaining their freedom, and it is implied regions of Orthard suffered a lot of damage during the Final Days, i mean they certainly are the region that feels like it would generate the most amount of despair with the Civil War and disorganization compared to Eorzea and Orthard which have much more unity right now. I just feel that there are a lot of potential for an expansion set in Ilsabard where we deal with the aftermath of the Garlean civil war, and the final days. We could also see a lot of new nations and power rise up in this power vacuum, such as nations that have regained their independence, Legatuses who have created their own nations, and even entirely new nations that arose out of the chaos of the final days. Maybe this is how they continue or even fix the PvP situation. Plus if they just ignore Ilsabard then it is going to feel even more like there was a Garlean expansion that was sacrificed at some point in the move to finish up the season 1 arch in 6.0 instead of 7.0.
That being said I would not be opposed to a Meracydia expansion in the near future as it has a been mentioned more in the games lifecycle, which is what made me more hyped for EW zones, however I wonder how they will make the zones diverse for it with it being described as a wasteland. I believe that was one of the reasons they split SB between Ala Mhigo and Doma, so that we would not just have desert zones. I however have no interest in another shard or another planet storyline at any point in the distant future, not until we have explored most of the locations on Hydalyn, the planet I actually have a lot of investment in with the history and cultures.
Ya there is a lot yet to be explored but I feel they may cover that overtime through Season 2 even if they are not the locations in 7.0. I am still on the Meracydia and a small part of the New World being our next location in 7.0 due to how Emet emphasis on these locations in 6.0.
considering Meracydia is mostly a wasteland, I think they may go down the side content route for it if we're only getting the city as a hub. Maybe a side storyline about some group of people trying to find a way to bring life to the wasteland.
Main Story wise, I suspect whatever is happening in Meracydia maybe related to the Season 2 Antagonist. Emet did emphasis on their state to be very important for our future adventures. We may even find reason to go to the New World because of what WoiL discovered in Meracydia.
On the other hand, as I mentioned before, Meracydia may get the Ala Mhigo treatment and end up being the 7.0 end dungeon before the final boss fight as the place being the 7.0 antagonist base of operations due to what we find in our journey in the New World.
I also feel we will not get a lot of the New World if they choose to have the New World as part of the next expansion.
I believe they may only give us one country that is part of the new World so they can establish a foothold in that continent for future expansions while establishing some lore about these other countries located in the New World. That way they may focus on one new country in the New World and in current location known to use around Eorzea per expansion.
