I'm honestly hoping the 7.0 (Name Unknown) myth arc has nothing to do with the Ascians, Ancients, Amaurot, etc.
It was a great story but to be a truly fresh start it needs to be unshackled by those plot elements.

Which can only mean, we should go to the New World. Why? Because nobody will know us, know what we've done, and supposedly it wasn't touched by Allagans. Meaning a true fresh start.
Yoshi-p already said the Ascians, Ancients, Amaurot, Zodiark, Hydaelyn, and etc related to them all ended in 6.0.
Season 2 is going to be a new storyline involving new antagonists and etc. However, expect the Scions to return as Season 2 is meant to be a sequel storyline after all.
We can basically consider Season 2 story to be Final Fantasy 14-2.
With Season 2 beginning in 6.1, I expect 6.55 maybe mostly focus on setting up where WoL will go to Season 2 and the new antagonist while introducing some of the new companions WoL will adventure with for Season 2. Of course we should expect the Scions to return eventually in a sequel storyline fashion one at a time due to varies reasons for them joining WoL on his/her new world saving adventure.

If they're addressed, I bet it'll be side story content
Well, to be fair, we and people we know have done things that the Ascians have thought were impossible. So who knows.I've seen people mention wanting 7.0 to focus on going to the 13th shard and some how restore it from its Void status but I just don't see it happening.
The lore established the 13th was corrupted by Darkness so badly that not even the Ascians could reverse the effects to a point little amount of the 13th shard remains where the 13th shard once was. The World of Darkness is basically all that is left of the 13th shard while everything else is a Void of Darkness.
If they are going to explore more of the 13th Shard, I expect it maybe a side content being either a Raid, Alliance Raid, or some kind of exploration content that maybe used for 7.X Relic weapons.
That being said, I do think it's more likely to be side content than MSQ. Probably the Warring Triad quest will be required, but not all of the Shadowbringers Role quests, they'll handwave and say they did everything the quests did while you weren't looking, and if you don't do them some dialogue will be different like the "Eorzea Assemble" moment in Endwalker. (Though honestly, people should do them, they're some of the best and I love all the characters).

Venat says she’s the last of her kind so I guess the missing four were done away with off-screen.
If true, it’s kind of a sucky way to address that but at the same time I am sick to death of Ascians, Garleans, and Allagans and I want a story that’s fresh and new and doesn’t lean on any of those.
It is possible those four Ascians maybe have been killed off by a different group of heroes. We never did learn where they were stationed on the Source.Venat says she’s the last of her kind so I guess the missing four were done away with off-screen.

I am only guess but I think these four may have been killed off in the New World by the characters who maybe WoL new companions for Season 2. One of the most important part of FF14 story is the emphasis about how everyone has their own story but we can never see all of these stories since our view is focused on our character's story and experience in the world. It is why we can never judge characters on first impressions because their story that lead up to that moment that we never seen is the foundation of their actions once they reach that point.
We also just had our first Trial Trust in 6.0 and I suspect this was just a test for Trust Trials in Season 2. If they plan to have Trust Trials for Season 2 involving the New World's primals then it stands to reason the new companions can also fight primals without being tempered.
This would also setup a reason for maybe one or two of WoL's new companions in Season 2 to appear during 6.1 to 6.55 if Season 2 focus on mostly the New World since people of the New World have little contact with Eorzea and nations that trade or make contact with them so they will not know about events of Season 1 and maybe completely unaware about WoL existence. Thus this new companion or companions travel to Eorzea to find WoL due to hearing about WoL from the four Ascians they defeated, seek to defeat the leadership of Ascians but are unaware they are already defeated, or to obtain information about what caused the Final Days on their side of the world due to lacking information that Eorzea and their allies have.
It may even make a comical first encounter as well if they go down the "enter Eorzea to defeat the Ascian leadership only to find out later they are already defeated" route with WoL's first companion. That companion talking about his or her journey in the New World to defeat the four Ascians what is basically his/her own Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringer to WoL and how that journey leads him/her here to Eorzea in hopes of defeating the Ascian leadership to end the Ascian threat for good which would have been his/her Endwalker only to be told by probably WoL that they are already defeated.

I'm wondering if we're going to visit more regions as our MSQ dungeons this go-around; Xelphatol and Paglth'an being two prior examples.
There's bound to be some isolated places that were overtaken by blasphemies due to lacking the military power and structure to keep them in check.
