Can roulettes get an exp boost? Leveling roulette < 80+ dungeons

Title says it all but I've been feeling like roulette XP was heavily undertuned ever since EW launch and while looking into the lvl 80+ exp boost to dungeons I realized that I got less exp from the leveling roulette than running an at level dungeon. Which is kinda crazy.

For reference the roulette I ran at lvl 83 gave me 3.6m xp bonus (low level dungeon that gave me something like 200k ontop of that). The lvl 83 dungeon gave me 3.7m.

I currently don't see much of a reason to run roulettes on anything but an at cap character for the tomes, or in a full group party with the level limit option on.
Yes, sure if you get lucky you might get an at level dungeon and double your XP but what are the odds? Best to run them for tomes.

And don't get me started on trial and normal raids that give you 500-1000k exp at level 84. That's what? 1-4 fates worth of exp.

Are roulettes no longer meant to level? If not, fair enough. But if so, they need some love. I certainly will no longer be touching mine unless I need tomes.

What do you mean by limiting system for roulettes? Never heard of it.

Leveling roulette could also get you that level 83 dungeon for 6m exp, or any dungeon inbetween for exp inbetween.

I think they’re talking about how you can limit the roulette to only give you dungeons no greater than 10 levels below your current level under certain conditions (e.g., queuing as a light party with friends/FC mates).

I feel like only leveling roulette is meant to give enough exp to warrant using it for leveling. If you get a dungeon at your job level in the roulette it's ideal, but generally outside of the daily bonus it's been more efficient to spam the highest level dungeon instead of queueing roulette multiple times. The "capstone" dungeons themselves don't give as much exp as a odd numbered leveling dungeons, and the exp reward for the roulette is... not much. I do wish that were better too.

Also it would be great that when doing a leveling roulette it considered your job level and gave you an appropriate dungeon, however I do understand there are at least a couple legitimate reasons why they don't.

Like I said, the odds are low enough that it doesn't make it a good strategy. That time is much better spent running an at level dungeon and getting guaranteed tomes.

Never mentioned spamming the roulette, you just do it once a day. And it use to be that the roulettes would provide a decent % of your xp bar regardless of your level. Making it a valid strategy to just run leveling/trial/normal raid daily to level your characters. That's no longer the case (at least not past 80, I can't tell about the other levels)

That statement implies that someone actually wants to do more than one dungeon for their leveling purposes a day. I know plenty of people that just go for expert - leveling - done, sometimes adding in alliance. In which case, using leveling is 100% a better idea since it gives the likelyhood of not only giving you a role in-need bonus of materia, but also a possible on-level dungeon where you reap the benefit of not only the on-level dungeon exp, but also the roulette bonus.

Not to mention, there's a key factor you're forgetting here: The roulette bonus doesn't consume rested EXP. if you chain spam on-level dungeons, you'll find your rested running out and that 3.7m dungeon will suddenly only give 2.4mil, yet the roulette is still giving you the 3.6m bonus. leveling is more exp efficient in the long run.

leveling may have been a bit nerfed compared to before, but factoring in everything, it's still the most exp per time investment ratio you can queue for. The only choice is if you care about a longer leveling process due to running out of rested faster vs 100 of the uncapped tomes....that you can get metric tonnes of doing hunt trains.
