Why do "Standard Controls" players still need to face target but not "Legacy Control"

I am scared to get used to "legacy" because legacy makes it sound like something that is going to be removed

It's the default if you use a controller, so for everyone who plays on console.

It's been in for 8 years. It's not getting removed lol.
