No male dreadlocks

This makes me cry myself to sleep everynight knowing that the female models get my IRL hairstyle, while as a male, I cannot have it. It's not even unlockable/purchasable from anywhere. It's just 'females are the only ones who can have dreads, men, cut your hair.' and this offends me to my very core.

Don’t worry, SE will implement dreadlocks for all races/genders bar the viera soon enough.

If it helps lessen the sting, the dreadlocks have such a terrible clipping problem with like 90% of all gear in the game (and the character's own shoulders, at times) that I finally, with sadness, switched to short hair late in Shadowbringers.

My problem with dreads in almost every MMO that adds them is they do an absolutely terrible job of it.

Clipping, or it looks like a low polygon mess, or it's always the long tail going down the back that slightly floats off the body like we have here, and worse.

I really want dreads on characters, but I never get them because I guess they, the entire industry, just can't bother to hire an artist that has ever even seen them before to do it...

Yeah, I've seen like... two or three games I can think of that have done it well, and I don't think any of them have been MMOs. (Though, to be fair, New World actually had a surprisingly not-terrible dreadlock hairstyle. I won't say it was good, but it was not terrible, which still clears the bar for "better than most MMOs". Unfortunately, the rest of the game was kind of a mess -- and for me, a miss -- so...)

But even by those admittedly-low standards, the clipping problems on the dreads in FFXIV is pretty extreme.
