Botanist requirements?

Hi,
I've had to take a break from my MSQ because my friend I've been playing along with hasn't been available.
Thought I'd check out Botanist in the mean time, but I went to the guild & the quest was in red, unavailable.
Is there some kind of requirement to unlock it? I'm only a sprout, but a level 39 white mage.

What is the name of the quest that is unavailable? It may be that you've already unlocked the class and you're seeing the next BTN class quest.

The only requirement to my knowledge is to have unlocked the Armory System, which is how we can change into every single job in this game with one character only, and that unlocks after you do your first class's level 10 class quest.

I think maybe you already unlocked the ability to become Botanist, just equip the level 1 Hatchet tool they gave you, and that should do it.

Thanks! I can't remember the name, but I think it may well be that I wasn't having the tool equipped. Thank you both so much!
