
If AF gear or weapons from NM were key items, how would they be repaired? I don't think SE would go for gear that never needed repairs.
That's an artificial problem. They could code it so that they are treated like key items in the inventory, but can still be repaired/show up in the inventory when equipping gear.
And it wouldn't be for NM weapons, JUST AF.
Or you could just stop hulking around gear for everything under the sun. Considering how quick and easy you can return to your home-town and retainers I don't see the issue with the inventory.
Remember they are eventually going to slash our inventories down to size if the developers are to be held to their word.


we get equip mannequins in 2.0 where 1 set of equip = 1 slot in inventory.


One can always use GC gear for classes/jobs. So you could carry the AF for the jobs you use the most, plus a gc/crafted set for classes/jobs that you don't use often. You won't have the max benefits of having specific gear for each class/job, but do you really need that level of versatility if they are roles you rarely play?
