Can't select target in lvl 85 MSQ

    Date & Time: 12/18/2021
    Frequency: Persistent
    World name: Hyperion
    Character name: Wach'a Veili
    NPC name: Mehvan's baby
    Class/Level: Monk 85
    Party or solo: Solo
    In-game time: Persistent
    Area and coordinates: Thavnair (x: 24.7 y: 24.1 z: -0.6)

    Steps:
    1. Main Scenario Quest "Warm Hearts, Rekindled Hopes" cannot be completed because I cannot select the object under the water.
    2. Mouse can't select the target.
    3. Tried Numpad 5, then numpad 0 according to other people, but it does not work.

Make sure you're actually close enough to select it. Being underwater skews depth perception ingame. I had to wiggle my camera angle around to make sure I was close enough.

If you roll your camera zoom in to where your view is "looking through your character's eye", you can then very easily target/select the baby as you will be able to tell your exact distance and angle.

Like MilkieTea said, the swimming animation skews you perception of the distances from your character's "hit box" to target "hit box", so even though you think you are close enough to target/select/interact, you are actually still too far away and/or too far above.
If you still use the normal camera view, then it helps to swim directly above it, pan the camera to look straight down, and then descend till you can target/select it.
