CHI and other long FATE timers

Why is SE not addressing this issue with current login issues and limited servers? All this is doing is keeping people logged in to get the spawn. CHIs window can run up to 72 hrs I believe? Even so, this hurts the player base from logging in the game; I know it’s a small percentage but still plays a factor.

Yup, I have camped this site twice now, for 9 hours each time and no spawn, even though it spawned on the other 2 instances. Its pretty terrible since we're sitting waiting and then you get to a point where you're afraid to leave as you invested so much time. It's really stupid and completely unrealistic, by physically taking people away from the game you created to sit and stare into space.

people are letting their FOMO getting to them because they feel the have to have it right away or somehow they're less of a person.

Help me understand how this is not your choice to sit there and camp over 9 hours for this when it's not a limited time event.

What you do in the game is your choice and your responsibility. You are not being forced to "sit and stare into space".

Stop camping if you don't enjoy it. Do other things. The FATE isn't going to suddenly be removed from the game. The crowds will die out around end of January and you shouldn't have a problem getting into an instance to do the FATE when it spawns if you don't get lucky before then.

Also, if it spawned in the other 2 instances while you were camping why didn't you go to an Aetheryte to switch to the active instance? Congestion makes switching instances awkward but if you were in the instance being camped, you would have had a good chance at getting into the correct instance before other players not yet in the final zone could teleport in.

I have the mount myself, but I agree with OP the mount issue should be addressed
I doubt the devs themselves intended for the chi fate to be a frustrating camp to earn

people waiting for chi are basically taking up server space

It would be tolerable with any sort of bad luck prevention. I've been disconnected from the game, and had it spawn while sitting in queue to get back to camp. Had it spawn while I was trying to log. Spawn right after I logged off. I don't mind the grind or the camp, but at least let me have some progress toward the item for the effort in case I'm unable to play during the spawn. Maybe raise the cost of the mount, as well as the rewards from Chi itself, but give the player a bolt or two for each FATE completed? Then it becomes a grind that progresses faster if you get lucky with the Chi spawn.

as time goes on hype dies down for these fates,
you will get it at some point, if you are that dedicated to get it then you should check if its up and spawn the fate yourself if it doesn't that how it is and move on,
SE/Dev team is not responsible if people choose unhealthy habits for a fate.

You are talking an optional item, not something you need to progress in MSQ, gear or gaining levels. If it is that important to you, then you must continue to camp these zones for hours on end.

I know people have had luck with the relay of special fates through novice network, FC channels and linkshells. If you are quick enough, you can get in and join a group and get your 6 tokens without having to actually wait in the zone for hours on end.
