People are the way they are. Most MMO's have options for this kind of stuff anyway and should be there by default. You don't even have to be social if you join an FC. You can literally never interact with anyone and benefit freely from permanent XP buffs among other things. The worst you may run into is having to say hi back when they say hi to you when you log in.
Some people are so weird and self-defeatist sometimes smh.
I tried this and then I would not log in for a few days and get kicked and it would start all over. Got so tired I paid people to join one I started and then kicked everyone but me and my wife. I now do not have to put up with anyone and do not have to put up with all the unwanted invites and whispers. I don't want to have to put up with people. I always thought the best part of a mmo is the people and the worst part of a mmo is people. I can only take so much a day.You don't even have to be social if you join an FC. Imagine thinking wanting to play on your own and not just simply pad someone else's numbers is "weird and self-defeatist". What's fun about being in an FC with people you never have to interact with? You can also get the same buffs from squadrons. You don't even have to be social if you join an FC. I'm not sure whether to laugh or feel sorry. Life must be very difficult.
I am not surprised what-so-ever that you have reared your head in this thread lmao.
Honestly, Solo FCs have been such a consistent red flag when it comes to certain types of people, maybe it's a good thing that those people feel compelled to make them. They're usually shelters for people who constantly instigate interpersonal drama but never realize that they're the common thread.
Reported one that did it to me 5x straight before I joined my friend. I try to live and let live unless they are spammy and annoying.
Wise men speak because the have something to say, fools because they have to say something. - Plato - He saw the ff forums apparently.
If you've got a problem with me, either say it outright or keep it to yourself. If you're trying to vaguely refer to the fact that I'm in an FC with one other person, then you missed the mark. I play with my partner exclusively, regardless of how we interact with other players. We use it as a private chat for when we're in duties (since you can't send tells), we share materials and items using the company chest (because it's easier than mailing them or waiting for us both to be online to trade), and have greater control over what daily buffs we get. Not really anything to do with "instigating personal drama", I just never liked joined guilds/FCs with strangers or exceptionally high volumes of members.I'm not sure whether to laugh or feel sorry. Anyway, don't take your problems out on me, pal. Sounds like you have your own personal issues with "solo FCs".
Yikes dude, maybe you should focus less on what others do and focus on yourself.I'm not sure whether to laugh or feel sorry. Life must be very difficult.

Everyone I chose to play with created personal FC for just us and family.
I pay to play this game and I will continue to chose whom I wish to interact with. If that rustles anyone else's jimmies this is a you not me problem.
Shall never forget the time two friends joined this FC because they felt bad. Despite being shy and uncertain about what to say to them. FC leader proceeds to ask them if they wish to farm birds and do savage.. as level 30 sprouts.. Then invites them to wedding and is incredibly insistent about them going. "I will be upset if you do not come! Please show up!" They only wished to play and experience story..
Queue days later multiple attempts to get two women into a discord server on voice chat then behaving strangely when they denied the request multiple times. It made my friends feel awkward as heck.
Can you guess what occurred next? They left and formed their own FC. Gee willikers, I wonder why?
I am not being anti social because I have better things to do then attend weekly events, go to multiple weddings, and have my chat log filled with uWu cat girl nonsense. I am here to complete story, run content, and play a video game. Creating family only or personal FC resolves the problem, and this is acceptable.
Easier solution would be for Square to implement option similar to Discord. Can set self so only those on friends list can whisper you, there you go.
I see no harm done, really. I politely decline. I do get the same person trying to recruit with the same macro message every day I happen to pass by them, but it doesn't bother me. FCs can be struggling to get new people, and Sprouts are too shy or don't know to ask to join one. We're all doing our best to play the game how we like, offense shouldn't be taken so much unless it's blatant harassment.
