I won't lie, I am a little confused as to how it is determined, the finite resources, of who gets the emote product item code.
For instance. I made my Grubhub purchase on the 13th. I am still waiting for my email, with the item code. However, some of my friends already have received it. I read the terms of the event which specifies, "allow for two weeks for processing all emails to those who will receive the emote item code". Which, with the number of participants likely to buy into this promotion, is a fair assessment of time to process them all.
However, this raises questions in my mind.
- How large is the pool for the item codes?
- If during this timeline of "Dec 9th-Dec 15th" that limit is reached, how are your customers supposed to know, so they don't end up spending their money in vain?
- How does Grubhub determine who, within the said time limit, will receive this item code?
These questions and more, regardless of the blanket statement "first come, first serve", do not get addressed in the announcement made on the 6th of December.
If I don't get the emote....meh, oh well. I got to eat some of my favorite food. But, I am very curious about the methods behind this promotional item and would like to know the process of how those who do receive it are chosen.
EDIT: After doing some looking around....it has come to the communities attention....that Grubhub, turned this isn't a lottery? rather than, just doling out the codes? Can any staff in the FFXIV area of SE confirm this? Because, that seems ....scam-like.
People are using their money, thinking they are being guaranteed an emote, only to find out that in fact, they are not. So now, not only are they wasting their money on an order for food, that they most likely didn't need in the first place, they are also not getting the one item that spurred them towards making that purchase in the first place.
