    Mega thread: Job concepts and my thoughts/(share yours if you got it

    Job 1 for scouting possibility:

    Corsair/sailor

    Weapon: Two in one- scimitar left hand and pistol in the right hand (one weapon not an off hand just like twin daggers expect two different weapons)


    Theme: Basically a sailor/pirate who uses the skills of said jobs.

    Resource:

    Cannon resource:
    During your aoe combos you will slowly form cannon balls up to three

    What can you do with them:

    Each cannon can be infused with one of three elements:
    Water cannon: Weakness enemies, by giving them drowning debuff (While in the water circle)

    Drowning debuff decreases their attack speed and power.

    Fire cannon: Huge explosion and pure damage.

    Maelstrom Cannon: A furry of lighting,water and wind dealing damage and dot damage while in the circle.

    Plunder resource:

    How to get resource: By successfully hitting at the right positional with single target combos, this will charge up a treasure chest up to five:

    What can the resource be used for?

    This resource can be used to make a ghostly pirate ship appear above you, dropping treasure chest on your enemy or allies depending on what treasure chest combo you use, either buffing your allies, dealing pure damage, or increasing your own power.


    Stage 3 limit break:
    Flying Dutchman: Summons the massive all mighty Dutchman chaining up the enemy and blasting it with all cannons, while being shot at by pistols.

    Party buff: Dirty tricks: this buff increases parties evasion


    Job concept 2: Thief/alchemist

    Weapon: Kriss, Mixing pot (two in one like above)


    Theme: basically an alchemist that steals from monsters to get its resource in order to mix for output, and other utilities.


    Resource 1:

    Snatch:

    What does it do? Snatch resource bar has three bags on it, one green one red and one blue


    What does the colors mean? Green is natural remedies like herbs, ivy's, flowers etc Red: is explosives such as grades, gunpowder type stuff. Blue is Environmental type things, such as red fang, arctic wind, fish scales etc.

    What would its use be?

    Combination art skill:

    Combining red-red = huge explosion
    Combining red-blue: does a elemental mass explosion (aoe)

    Combining blue: green can prevent buffs such as enfire/barstone etc helping the party.
    Red-green: can be similar to salted earth single explosion/debuff

    Resource two: theft (active resource)

    Every 30 seconds (similar to overheating) you can steal a single item.

    Arctic wind for a ice toss to a single target,
    Red fang: for a fire storm
    TnT: For an explosion

    Party buff: quick feet, Basically allows the party to refresh their skills faster.
    Limit break: Xmix : does three explosions in order of the types, red explosion, blue explosion and green explosion

    Job concept three:
    Beast

    Weapon: club/maces

    Theme: you become beast for your damage rotations:

    Resource: Genes,

    What does the resource do?

    Genes slowly build up as you fight and enable certain move sets, either building up as Red,Blue are White.

    What do you use the resource for?

    To transform, once you have fully charged up, you drop your weapon (or put it away) and become a beast based on the color generated:

    Red: is your basic beast like bears,tigers, snakes type of things

    Blue is your sea creatures: octopus,sharks,whales etc
    White is your aerial type beast: harpys, griffins, birds

    How would it function? Each mode lasts 30 seconds, using your second resource you can control which beast you take the form of.

    Feast resource:
    Using this three buttons you must make yourself feast, (controlling what you consume in order to control what you take the form of)

    Basic three forms, Bear, snake,cat

    To become a bear you must generate and combine beef,fish and honey in that order.
    For snake: you consume, Beef,beef, fish
    For cat: fish fish: beef

    Limit break: elite beast, take the form of a chimaria and do well rams voice(but bigger

    Concept 4: Elementist

    Theme: a Mele caster, basically a mele job that is a caster.

    Weapon possibilities: Whip,flail, single axe (share shields with paladins)

    Resource: Aether charges
    Black charge (for things like blizzard,fire,thunder) White charge (for things like Earth,cure,holy,air) and dynamis: ( a special charge) shifts between Ancient and void based on the combination:

    Enchantment resource: Charges through basic combat, once reaching 100 allows you to enchant an ally or seal and enemy.

    Attack examples:

    Bio Chop: Basically you chop or smash and place bio on the enemy. -> Fire Crush/chop (basically attack with flames with your weapon) —>Lighting snap—> same thing basic end combo placing a electric charge on the enemy making it take damage over time


    Resource combation attacks: Pure void orbs transforms your attacks into void type turning all your combos into a dot (less base damage but greater over time damage)

    pure ancient charges: you do no dot damage but get greater damage, however this require cast time


    Seals:

    Seal phsyical: basicly putting debravery on enemy (less damage with mele and physical attacks)
    seal Mind: defaith, less magic damage.
    Seal slow: Decreases their speeds.
    Seal movement: heavy

    special: Reverse ability, (this ability lets you do damage with cure chop, (without reverse on it can heal allys)

    I like the idea of beast, its certainly kinda unique, its just like summoner but more physical oriented instead of magical, just like druid in WOW for comparison, the weapon can be anything as the main point of the skill would be when in beast form

    I like the Thief concept. Beast, I like the idea of a shapeshifting job for sure but this take on one is a little silly lol. Elementalist seems a little too close to RDM but it sounds neat.

    The latest job I've been working on but haven't gotten around to finalizing is a Spellblade/Dervish:

    Weapon: Curved sword(s)

    Theme: Buff your weapon with an element, attacking with it generates a resource which you use to summon a magical weapon of that element in your offhand.

    Resources: 3 bars, 1 for each of the 3 elements you can buff your weapon with. Attacking with buffed weapon generates resource, attacking with a summoned offhand spends resource.

    Elements: Wind, Water, and Lightning. Why? These 3 elements make a storm. Also it's different from the other jobs.

    Flow & Feel: Playing this job would be like you're in control of a hurricane barreling down on your foes; a brutal, unrelenting, and unstoppable force of nature ripping to shreds anything and everything in your path.

    Gameplay: I was trying to go for something like Genshin Impact where you swap between elements pretty frequently to create combos but that proved too messy so it's more about managing resources and cooldowns with just a little bit of element interaction. The main hand weapon has 9 base attacks that all combo into each other, each ability combos to and from two other abilities and they change based on which element you're using - 3 are totally different while the other 6 just have different animations (3 for extra resource gen, 3 for extra damage).

    The offhand weapon would be controlled primarily with a single ogcd that mirrors most (not all) of your main hand attacks + some extra ogcds.

    Signature attack: A whirlwind of all 3 elements where you keep hitting 3 abilities in succession to keep spinning.

    Complexity: Similar to RDM but requires some memorization of a few different abilities that change based on element & their combos. Overall it's a pretty straightforward builder/spender.

    Still waiting for a battlemage job. Reaper is close in gameplay for what I'm talking about in that the "magic" attacks are mingled together with the melee instead of being on a semi long cooldown or a different phase of your gameplay cycle. I am really like reaper but the theme isn't for me.

    Tulzscha has a nice concept too.

    I want a mooglemancer that summons the kind of moogles that the good king moogle mog does. And the entire job would just revolve around throwing moogles at your enemies and allies...or well basically everyone.
